silvrsvt
Heres mine: 1986 Escort GT, used to be my old mans car, was my first car. First shot is it on the production line at EAP (was following it at night by VIN), Next one is out in the holding lot and the last one is in front of the house I grew up in. The car was still on the road in 1998, when I ran into it at an Autoparts store I was working at. Had well over 200K on it and had two major accidents on the front right sub frame (Dad got cut off and spun out (Escorts had really bad emergancy handling back then and I was a moron when I had mine..) and was still running good! 351cid
No picture, but my first was a 1972 Ford Gran Torino Sport. It was a "Q" code car, but when I got it it was motorless. I installed a 429 and a 4 speed with a 4.30 rear. Fast, fast car...especially when I installed the 250 shot of nitrous. My best times were in the high 11's. That was real fast in 1983...real fast!! Mustang_Marty
My first car was a 1968 Mustang GT coupe with a 289 auto. I sold it 3 months later for a then two year old 79 Mustang Ghia 5.0 auto. They were the fist two of a total 11 Mustangs that I have owned over the years. TomServo92
No pic but my first Ford product was a black '68 Cougar. My first Ford branded car was a '73 Gran Torino Sport fastback. It was one of my favorite cars and I wish I had it back now.
napoleon
My first Ford was a 1983 crown vic station wagon that I bought with a bad timing chain for $100. It had about 180,000 miles, I put a chain on it and drove it through the summer, I was 15 at the time and would sneak it out to cruise around the neighborhood After that summer I sold it to a local dealer for $500 Some before and after of me going offroading with it. FordBuyer
No pic, but my first car was a hand me down 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 my Dad gave me. My first car that I purchased was a 1968 Ford Cortina GT. I have a picture somewhere of it, but too lazy to scan it and put it on here. Anyway, it was burgundy with 4 speed trans and nice, little car that I drove to California and back.
Traveler
I don't know where a pic is of my first Ford and by the time I found it, the topic would probably be old news. My first was a 90 Mustang GT hatckback, white with a red stripe. Red and black interior. I put 92k miles on it before I traded it. Saw that car ever so often for probably 10 years after trading it. Unfortuately, however I have not seen it in some time. It may have found its way to the crusher by now.
NeoGeo630
My first was a 1984 Ford Tempo GL 4 door. It was silver and it lasted till the summer of 1994 when my younger brother proceeded to total it in an accident. It had over 150k miles on it and was still going strong! If my brother hadn't crashed it, who knows how long it would have lasted! I had some great memories with that car; carrying 7 guys in it at one time for lunch including one in the trunk, pushing it to 85 mph where it started to shake so bad I thought the whole car was going to blow apart, and just going anywhere and everywhere in it. It wasn't the coolest car but it was mine and it got me where I needed to go! Good times... Edited December 17, 2007 by NeoGeo630
JW
More than you asked for, but there we are. In order of purchase... #1... My '94 Ranger. Best vehicle I've ever owned. It has 340,000 miles on a nearly original 4.0 V6 (but is on its fourth 5-speed). Currently undergoing resurrection to be an AWD 5 liter asphalt destroyer. #2... My girlfriend's 2000 B3000 (on the right). She bought a Mazda because her parents told her that domestics suck When she brought it over to show me, I showed her all the Ford emblems. Great little truck with the 3.0 Vulcan and 3.73 gears. Traded in for... #3 My girlfriend's '04 Explorer. Currently my favorite running vehicle - quiet, reasonably refined and a lot of fun to drive. 4.0 and 5-speed auto with AWD and scoots along quite nicely. #4 My '98 Expy, seen here with my other offroader. Picked it up used in 2005, and I've put 50,000 miles (and two head gaskets) on it. Gets the job done, but needs about 3 more MPG and 100 more horsepower. This list does not include the four Ford trucks my dad had, or my sister's '01 Ranger or my brother's '99 F150. chromehorn
My 1st Ford was a 79 Pinto. My dad bought it for me after I graduated from High School in '83, and it served me quite well for almost 10 years. When I gave it to my brother-in-law it had 175,000 miles on it. Only internal engine work done was unbrella seals on the valve stems and a timing belt. I drove that little sucker as hard as I could pretty much everywhere I went. It would run about 30 mph in 1st, 60 in second, 75 in third, and topped out around 105mph. Not bad at all considering the thing had all of about 90 HP or something like that. I would regularly mash the throttle and side-step the clutch just to show people that a Pinto could turn it's right rear tire into smoke. Of course there were quite a few universal joints that needed replacement, I think 2 clutches, and one throw-out bearing as well. That little 2.3 four-pot was dang nearly indestructable. The lessons I learned driving that car on country dirt roads, ice/snow, etc... have served me well. All too often people today need FWD/AWD/4WD, traction control, ABS, Roll Stability Control and all kinds of other junk just to keep out of the ditch when the road becomes slick. Maybe everyone who wants to get a drivers license needs to spend some time behind the wheel of an average 60's or 70's car so they can understand what it really is like to be in control of a car. RichardJensen
That's Lew Veraldi in the pic, not me. First car was a light blue over silver '88 Taurus LX wagon (had the cornering lights, color keyed body cladding, power passenger/driver seats, a grenaded transmission at only 100k miles, and a busted lifter at 105k). It was rear-ended on the interstate in heavy traffic, and was scrapped. Edited December 17, 2007 by RichardJensen

My brother in law got me into fords with his 85 Cougar XR7, 87 Tbird turbo coupe, and his 92 SHO. He had a 96 SHO and i had a 99 SHO. Now i have a 500 and he has a King Ranch F150. silvrsvt
a grenaded transmission at only 100k miles My parents had a 89 Wagon (as seen the bottom pix) and its transmission went at 56K and 102K respectively. My parents haven't had the best of luck with Ford Automatics...the Taurus and their Explorer's Transmissions went well before 100K...I hope the JV Tranny in their Sable doesn't give them problems. RangerM
My '94 Ranger. Best vehicle I've ever owned. It has 340,000 miles on a nearly original 4.0 V6 (but is on its fourth 5-speed). Currently undergoing resurrection to be an AWD 5 liter asphalt destroyer. My first (new) vehicle is the 1993 Ford Ranger, that I still drive. I'm curious, why so many trannies? My truck (a 4.0L) has 145K on it and all I've done (other than replace the Tranny oil) is replace the clutch plate.
BigBadBflo
1988 Escort EXP. I only went through 3 starters in 105k, but after buying the first with the "lifetime guararty" the 2nd two were free, except for my labor. I also painted it one summer while working at a Ford Body shop after getting the DuPont rep to comp me some of The Laser Red Tri-coat that was on the Mustangs at the time. Great car that I kept until using it as a negotiating tool for purchasing my 97' 150. As a final offer I should have countered with keeping it since in reality it pry wasn;t worth much of anything to the dealer. Friends always loved getting stuffed in the back where there were no seats. Edited December 17, 2007 by BigBadBflo

atomaro
This is my second car (16 years ago). Originally a 2 barrel 289 /C4 combo. Now has a 69 302. Big blocks (390 and 429) are in storage waiting their day. The wheels are vintage Ansen Sprints from the early 60s. Brakes, front /rear suspension have all been rebuilt. Paint is OE. Going_Going_Gone
I used to be a die hard GM man. The first Ford I owned was a '85 Bronco w/5.8 HO. Great running vehicle, but gulped so much gas I traded it in on a '91 Toyota P/U. Other than a couple of Nissan Maximas, and our current Mazda, since then its been all Fords: '93 SHO, '96 T'Bird, '98 F-150, '99 Taurus, '03 Super Duty
JW
I'm curious, why so many trannies? A combination of things. The first one went because a Jiffy Lube-style shop put gear oil in it (it's designed for ATF). It was low due to the issue with the rubber plugs for the shift rails (they leak). The second one was on its way out for a similar reason when I replaced it. When I put the third one in I sealed the plugs, and it never lost any fluid. But I blew a hard third gear shift one day and shredded half the cluster. Fourth one is still going strong.
StevenCaylor
My first Ford was a 65 Mustang. Originally my mom's car, they gave it to me for graduating with honors from high school in 1972. This picture was taken in December of 65 when the car was 1 year old.
Captainp4
I've had 5 fords total here is my first one.. '99 ranger having a little fun offroad. great truck until the vulcan threw a rod after that I got the '00 f150.. not quite as fun offroad. just too big for that stuff, but a reliable truck it was. Then the '06 mazda3 for gas mileage, loved the back roads in this car. still needed to get my wheelin' in, so I picked up a '78 bronco.. Then I realized I was either going to kill myself or get a really big ticket having so much fun on those back roads in the mazda and that I needed something to tow the wheeling rig to the trails, so I traded it in for an '03 superduty. more than you asked for, but I like to show my vehicles, lol :shades: ps any way to make the images full size?
