They exited segments where the competition drove down prices on ubiquitous products to the point they aren't profitable enough to bother thanks to Ford's higher than average platform costs. It's not just competition. There is huge competition for F series and they compete just fine because F150s are not anonymous blobs and they've optimized the platform costs over multiple decades. With this truck Ford seems to have the lowest cost outside of the Chinese and it's not a boring blob. Completely different situation.

Which looks kinda attractive to my eyes. -

Ford Thunderbird perhaps? Nah, let's not give them any ideas 😂. -
Sure, in theory that works........except Ford is great at having a plan until they don't have a plan....that's all I'm saying, just one of those back of the mind sort of "what if" things.

I also think this seam in the camo is probably a good representation of the slope of the hood.

But all of those products your talking about either had cost or other products that never came about that where supposed to replace them. That is why I'm assuming that the Maverick will stick around-the profitability issues won't be there as much as those other products and I'm going to assume it will be better because they'll apply what they've learned from CE1 to ICE products. -
Agree regarding the wheels. Kia's wheels are HORRIBLE these days, and these four spoke ones are along those same lines......gross.

Perhaps it has that ugly split light look? Or a stacked light similar to F-150 or Super Duty. The videos show the turn signals active: I think it's too new for that.

I guess that’s my cue 😂. I personally hate this side profile. The windshield slopes way too much for a truck. The square/geometric wheel designs that everyone seems to be using these days also needs to go. And frameless doors kinda suck imo. I also think there’s a good amount of extra camo here disguising it pretty well. My guess is a bit more extreme for where the belt line actually is. I’m guessing it’s right on the red line below, almost in line with the door handles. I vaguely remember an article saying it might use mach e style door handles. If that’s the case, then the door handles would be right at the bottom of the window. This also lines up better with where the hood meets the body. It also wouldn’t look right if the belt line didn’t line up with the top of the bed, so I think there’s probably 3-5” of camo built up on the bed to make it look taller.

I'd agree that Lincoln isn't likely at those levels perception wise, even if it deserves more. They also should put more effort into adding features that competitors have, though.
