The ST is the line topper (Tremor for the "off-road" crowd), the Platinum is for folks that find 300+ horsepower adequate in their "sedan"....my Timberline had a sufficient amount of hustle for the 2.3L Ecoboost.....jus' sayin'.....
So spend for the best, and get the cheap engine? Urrggg, I call that "mediocre rich"....like my uncle who would by an S-Class, just to say he had an S-class and yet smallest engine and no options. As Bzcat said, force the upsell. Honestly at that price point, the buyer wouldn't care anyways. So how can Platinum be Plantinum, when it's tarnished by the cheap engine, wouldn't that makes it "Titanium"... since it's cheaper than Platinum... right?
The expy is getting the reviews it is because for Ford , this is very good execution. When it comes to Lincoln there is so much more expectation. As well the Navi is always in heavy competition from Escalade, and Cadillac alway insures its flagship are flagships. Lincoln just tries to make it good enough.
He was talking about warranty numbers and the VDS, where Ford has improved vs last year. The IQS numbers really aren’t relevant to what he was discussing unless they show up in the warranty numbers, which, apparently, they’re not. If people are bitching to high heaven about having to use a touchscreen to change the temperature or the radio station, that’s something that could be reflected in the IQS but not in the warranty numbers. Likewise with customer complaints about things where they just don’t know how to use a feature or it doesn’t work the way they expect—things that the dealer can head off before it becomes a warranty claim.
Yea, it's interesting that big shot Galhotra said:
“Ford and Lincoln were the most improved brands in J.D. Power’s 2025 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study”
That study is for 3 year old vehicles (2022 MY). IQS is for the current model year (2025).
Blaming this one on Tesla and Rivian. They only have fixed glass options. I can assume other manufacturers are realizing people are mostly ok with just the glass option. Saving production and warranty costs.
I personally like the moonroof option, even if it can only be open for like 3 months here in the PNW.
