The greatest threat of the Trump administration is not so much their extreme political philosophy, but just plain incompetence and unpredictability. It's normal for a president to make appointments from his own party, but usually they're experts in their fields and are ready to work on day one. Same for policy- You can pretty well predict what theme the administration will follow and while they adapt to changing situations, they have long term goals and act on them. And regardless of partisanship, they believe in our democratic principles and defend them.
Barely halfway between the election and inauguration we've already got a bunch of incompetent nominees and the authority of the Vice President and maybe the President too has been usurped by a multi billionaire government contractor. Just in the last days Trump reversed on his party's traditional demand for limited national debt and many congressional republicans forgot their campaign promises and voted with Trump. That's a whole lotta disorganization and dysfunction for an administration that ain't even taken office yet!
Ford and other corporations are making multi billion dollar investments for the future like Blue Oval City, and the last thing they need is an administration that on a whim renders those investments worthless.
Maybe they'll do dedicated charging area instead? It would be fairly easy to implement a reservation system with fines if you don't move your car by the time you signed up for.
The bigger issue is how to figure out the density and then maybe have a future reserve area if say 80% of people who live there have EVs
Oh heck, you’d have to imagine Blue Oval Center is rapidly turning into a huge white elephant…
If the government support of up to $12,000/ vehicle evaporates, then where does that leave Ford?
Maybe not outright cancellation for now but perhaps it get pushed back to 2028 or 2029?
Maybe the CE1 based BEV mid sized pickup, utility and van(?) will be enough in a cut down future..
I’d love to be a fly on the wall in Ford and GM boardrooms….
I wouldn't count on that
Guess you don't remember this:

Circle K has done that. When I went up to Champaign, IL for the Purdue - Illinois football game, I stopped by a Circle K gas station there that had DC fast chargers. They worked great on my F-150 Lightning
Yea, it's gonna happen no matter what, it's just a question of how soon. What any government official in the U.S. does or doesn't do ain't gonna change that
