My 2015 mks ac has an electrical problem. The sunroof drains were stopped up and water leaked on the control panel on the dash. I fixed the problem but now the ac will not work. I checked the fuses under the hood, and they are good. I have-not checked the relay because I don't know how to. I cannot find the cabin fuse box. If you can help me, it would help me greatly.
sincerely,
Tony Watkins
You could always try disconnecting the battery for a little and seeing if you can have the transmission re-learn your driving style to see if that helps. Just to rule that out before doing anything more serious.
So existing Platforms...
Puma - Maybe? What about a small sporty CUV based on this? Something to compete with the Lexus NX?
Escape/Bronco Sport - Corsair (future still in doubt on this one right?)
Bronco/Ranger/Everest - Crazy idea but what if they were to toy with this and give it a fixed roof, nice materials, sound deadening. Think Defender 90 or Mercedes G Class... biggest issue is those 2 models sell on history and heritage which Lincoln does not have in this segment but something fun to think about. If not Bronco what about Everest?
Explorer - Aviator
Mach E - I think they could do something here I feel like that's low hanging fruit but they don't want to give Lincoln a full EV at the moment, I get it, but if they were to have at least 1 I feel like this would be the segment to do.
Expedition - Navigator
Maverick - Lincoln CUV based on this? Might overlap with the Corsair too much though, probably nothing here.
F-150 - Been there done that won't work again.
Super Duty - No
Transit - lol no
Mustang - a sedan based on the Mustang chassis is my dream but I feel like Ford doesn't want to go down this route at all. I still think a coupe could work if it's given the 3.0 or a PHEV version... basically power trains that would never work in a Mustang. Make it smooth and more of a grand touring coupe instead of a muscle car. I am not suggesting a Mark VII like someone else pointed out in another thread (not the 80s anymore) I am thinking something like a 8 Series BMW.
I feel like something is there but not sure what. Just spitballing ideas. I would love if the Zephyr or Z what ever they call it these days could potentially work here too but it would need more than just the 2.0. 2.3 or 3.0 as an option and a hybrid or PHEV option.
I was sad when they pulled the plug on Mercury. My first car was a Mercury. The brand was a former shell of itself and offered nothing over their Ford couter parts. I liked the Mountaineer a lot I thought it was way better looking than the Explorer. I think they could have made Mercury work I remember Lee Iacocca disagreed with Ford shutting Mercury down, and I also still remember the original plan of Mercury being smaller cars while Lincoln was larger cars. Not sure that plan would have worked but I wonder if Mercury could have been Fords brand to introduce new alternative fuels. Push Mercury to be EV or PHEV only. Or anyone remember the Meta One concept that was a diesel hybrid?
I know pie in the sky.
I see that all the time with people talking about muscle cars from the 1960s...yeah they are cool, but sure as hell not as reliable as todays cars.
Plus people fear things they don't understand, when all it takes is some basic research into it.
Ours is the 2017 explorer base with about 32k miles on it. Mostly babied, usually only driven a few miles at a time. It's been great, but lately, maybe over the last year or so, the transmission is been doing this thing, usually when driving at lower speeds, where the shift from 1st to 2nd is more noticable. It doesn't this almost lurch and pop.
Can anyone who has experience with this gen of explorer's, or any other Ford's with this 6 speed tell me what's going on? I thought it could be the fluid, as it hadn't been changed yet, but the mileage is so low, and according to the techs who barely checked it, it still has a healthy red look to it.
What our tech told me is while these transmissions tend to be pretty robust, sometimes you have to perform a software update on them to keep them shifting smoothly. Can anyone who's had that done tell me if it was a good idea, what the cost was, and how long it took to have that done at the dealership?
He did say it might run worse for a while after getting the update done, so that concerns me. But I can't just leave it like this.
I agree but what I meant was they should have designed a new c2 edge for North America whether it was the same one for China or two different top hats. The current one is a non starter for NA. A hybrid edge with the gee whiz dash would sell great here and maybe avoid being a commodity.
