True, but we should be getting a product onslaught of entirely new products, and derivatives of existing products in 26/27. Those are gonna be huge years for Ford based on how things are looking.
Now is kinda the calm before the storm.
Perhaps, but it's important to keep in mind a lot of the people on the other side have been devoted to hating on EVs for well over a decade. I don't see most of those people changing course, especially not enough of them to counteract the amount of current Tesla owners getting rid of their Tesla's.
About the same time our company went through a similar management shakeup, it was embarrassing to watch older managers who had progressed from their field or trade really struggling with presenting business figures at meetings. Our new broom had a low tolerance for pretenders and meetings became so uncomfortable that several took early retirement and were replaced by younger people with actual business management training. Painful period but a big breath of fresh air and higher profits followed
But they may also get new buyers who were on the other side. Until we actually see profits and sales drop and stay there it’s strictly an investor issue.
IDK man, even if Tesla revealed an affordable electric car today, given their track record of delaying products by years, I don't believe it would beat CE1 to market.
Maybe, maybe not. It just feels different this time. Even when Tesla has dipped hard in the past, they've always had that incredibly strong cult like following talking about how Musk could do no wrong. Those same people are the ones turning on Elon now.
You can lose buyers, but pissing off your biggest supporters is never a smart strategy long term. It's like the Bud Light thing, but a hundred times worse.
Musk may be intelligent but lacks wisdom or maybe it’s maturity. That stunt with chainsaws was the most idiotic and undignified thing I’ve ever seen a major company’s CEO do. Regardless of whether one believes the government must be reduced in size or not, acting like a fool who enjoys putting Americans out of work sent all the wrong messages. The behavior was insensitive and compassionless regardless of one’s political beliefs. Terminating people is often necessary, but should be done with respect in a dignified way.
Tesla should beat Ford to market with more affordable BEV, though Tesla’s version may not be an all-new car. Many analysts speculate it will mostly be a simplified and or decontented Model Y or 3. That’s not to say Ford won’t have a better electric car, or offer a more affordable price soon after.
