I feel like this is the way. A lot of us have wanted mustang to have a truly modern platform for some time, but that's not economically feasible if it continues to ride in an orphan platform. Who knows, maybe sharing a platform with things like a mustang SUV, and the explorer, would give the mustang team the budget to turn the mustang into an even better performance car. -
Nissan will be merged in to one of the to one of the other Japanese Auto makers. The Japanese government will not allow them to "fail". Mazda is going in the same direction-JMHO. Having experience with German manufacturers-good luck suggesting anything to improve matters.

Because you guys keep complaining that Ford doesn't build what you want them to build and your complaining won't change that. We keep explaining over and over why it's a reasonable business decision which you guys just ignore. That's why it's frustrating. Ford has a different business plan than Toyota or Hyundai that works better for them even if it doesn't match your personal needs. It's perfectly fine to be disappointed. I was disappointed they stopped making supercab Rangers but I understood why they did it. But saying or implying the company is going under because of the vehicles they killed is patently ridiculous given their financial results and future products.

Cheaper than remodeling Flat Rock to build utilities. But that is also an option.

The models they killed were the most expendable, meaning they were either losing money or not making much to begin with. This was due to decades of platform mismanagement (e.g. not moving Edge and Nautilus to c2 hybrids back in 2019) and neglect. But that also gives them a clean sheet to build new platforms that are profitable at lower prices. Doesn't mean they'll sell a cheap Corolla competitor because that's just a toaster. But definitely more affordable vehicles. But I doubt you would like whatever Ford comes up with so why don't you stop complaining and just go buy a Toyota?

They could replace it with mustang suv, sedan and coupe and close Flat Rock.

It makes sense to me to adopt the giga approach with C2 if they can (C3, if you will?) With CE1 essentially being 3 blocks - front cell with suspension, etc., middle battery pack, and rear cell with rear suspension, I wonder if the front and rear cells can be reused for ICE? with the middle section being replaced to allow for drive shaft etc. Or I guess the front may have to be its own design too for motor mounting points, etc....... So I guess there might be no direct carry over aside from the process itself.
