Yea, exactly. I think Ford, with its Universal Electric Vehicle Platform and Production System, has a big competitive advantage in terms of cost control versus anything the big shots at Stellantis announced yesterday.

With GM discontinuing medium-heavy, might Penske Rental go to Ford for their 6-7s? -

I'm agreeing with you-but at the same time there is a lot of inherent mass against EV adaption because of its inherent issues that a decent amount of people can't or won't deal with. Even if you could buy an EV cheaper then say a gas powered product, I think people (at least in the USA) will still buy the gas/Hybrid/EREV product in most product categories. -
But they do want EV trucks. They're just expensive right now. If erev brings the price down at least $10k then maybe it will sell.

Good point I didn't think about that. And that's one of those specific use cases. However with the smaller battery you're probably only going to see 75 miles of EV range while towing so the majority of your trip will be on gas. I think if they could keep the 300 mile ev range it would work better but then it gets too heavy and expensive.

Yup......and it's dumb because it's an additional trim, not like they're making this the only Bronco. Don't like this trim? Look at the other trims you were already interested in...

Yeah I have no idea........maybe trying to target former Liberty buyers?

My dad would love a Raptor R "street" version.

You get the driving experience of an EV without range anxiety. Plus, you can tow with it too! A regular hybrid doesn't have the driving experience of an EV, either. I would love to tow our fifth wheel with an EV. The instant torque, always available when you need it is amazing! Plus, with regenerative braking, you don't have to worry about your brakes overheating going down long hills. It's a win-win! You don't HAVE to recharge when towing or on long trips either, just let the gas engine do the work. However, when you stop and grab lunch, just plug it in and you've got that large range again. Also, for everyday driving, just plug it in at night and you don't burn any gas. My main concern is efficiency. If they can make it as efficient as a normal ICE, I think it's the best solution for those cases where a BEV just won't work. -

Yeah that concept is so much better imo. Even small details like how the black bar is just a clear, neat graphic with straight lines, it looks tidy. Then the production version, that same graphic arches at the top, and has those weird bits on the bottom.
