Looking at the whole interview (https://www.edmunds.com/car-news/ford-future-ev-truck-interview.html) it really seems like they are prioritizing the price tag over the range. He is saying it is $30,000, but deemphasized 300 mile range. Probably the right move. As long as they can for example be competitive with the Bolt on price and range it should work.

I don’t think a crossover will fit (too tall) at Flat Rock.
-
Anywhere but Flat Rock would just be inefficient use of money
-
It does , but where would it be made?
-
Ford loves debuting things and making you wait months to order it...

Oh it definitely was the right move to exit it. I was speaking regarding re-entry, I think they’re more likely to be #1 or #2 as they desire in that segment than mass market crossovers after reentry. They still should obviously try crossovers first.

Union guy (diff union) this demeanor is nothing unusual for negotiations and won’t have any bearing on Ford’s approach. It’s certainly a good aspiration but I wouldn’t take it as an indication of a more or less bold approach. It’s not the showmanship of Fain for example, which was mainly meant to signal membership IMO.

There's not been anything official, but as Akirby pointed out, our local source hinted at it.
-
ExplorerDude hinted at it very strongly and it makes sense.
