This has been coming for years. In the 1990s I used to  buy the big servicing book from Ford for my vehicles but by the early 2000s they stopped access to them, had to work for a Ford dealer.  

I've had few problems with ACP and Sync3 in My Ranger. Compared The Google platform in the 2025 Explorer I owned briefly, Sync3 is easier to use for me as well.

$120 here for a gasser.  Over $200 for my truck.  I do it myself now.

That will be next, or included: no more third party extended warranties. Once that happens, OEM's could start decontenting them, or changing the language to exempt certain procedures. A crankshaft could become a "normal wear & tear item."

I’m a rep for another union and am ideologically/relationally committed to Fain’s faction, so the way I analyze it is prob different from you, but given he is trying to claw back Great Recession concessions he probably needs at least a powerful strike threat to get that. Any employer let alone Ford doesn’t really give that without being forced these days. I am a bit skeptical of how successful 2028 will be personally though.   It’s tough to say what his reelection chances look like given the factional evolution, also I am with a diff union so I lack a direct pulse. He has gotten members a fuck of a lot more than his predecessors. Ultimately it’s up to them.

Ford only has to look at what it’s current BEV customers prefer, the larger battery option is popular and no amount of slight of hand can undo the very real issue of buyer range anxiety.

I'll be paying particular attention to the charging stations in my small town in northern Michigan.  I'm 3-4 hours north of the Detroit area and it's common for test vehicles from all manufacturers to stop here to have lunch, take a bathroom break, and charge their EV's.  I've talked to many engineers while they charge their vehicles.  

MY2027 will be here before you know it. I’m pretty sure trials have already been running 

I guess that's fair.  I've just never understood why Ford has such a long debut --> sale timeline.
