Now that's a good question!   

Philco was more than TV's, It was the precursor to Ford Aerospace. JLR? They paid billions, spent billions improving the manufacturing process, then gave it away for peanuts! Like I said before, in their hearts, Ford didn't want JLR to succeed and take Lincoln biz. Ford doesn't know what do with anything that isn't branded Ford or Lincoln. Like I also said in here, at the end of WWII, the US govt. offered Ford VW and Ford passed. But do you think VW would have survived under Ford? No way! Tractors? I'm not sure of the history order without searching, but Ford sold it to New Holland, then it became CNH, Fiat-New Holland, or something like that. It's a huge company today whatever its called.  I won't get into class 8, but if VW is going to make a pickup, then Ford should go into class 8 and make VW/Traton Group/Navistar sweat! If you blink your eyes, a company has changed ownership. What's going to happen when the Ford bloodline gets watered down?  I know they have a poison pill to deter takeovers, but how long will that last?

Well heck, how do you know if Ford's stock price would have fallen further had they NOT sold off those turkeys?   Philco for sure, as I remember their T.V.'s were not that great and weren't they involved in that Sgt. York weapons system fiasco?  Ford did well buying New Holland in 1986, combining it with Ford Tractor, and selling the whole deal to Fiat in 1991.   We have beat the class 8 truck thing to death.  Yes, they were making a little money in that business but selling the line to Freightliner, even at a loss, was a sound move because it enabled Ford to convert KTP to produce the highly profitable Super Duty line.   JLR?  Seriously?  Ford should have NEVER bought that mess to begin with.

That grille and headlight setup looks waaaaay too Camaro-y to me. 

The new paint shop is going into Kentucky Truck Plant, it’s hoped that this will free up both the Super Duty and Expedition/ Navigator line.

It has extremely low ceilings/doorways and can only build low cars not suvs or crossovers.

What was wrong with the old paint shop? Let's focus on engines, transmission and software deficiencies and recalls.

Every time Ford sold off a unit like Philco, Farm tractor, Class 8, JLR, the stock price went down!
