Well just look at this way-a stereotypical Ford truck buyer would most likely buy an F-150 over a Ranger if the price is similar. I don't think that translates the same way with the Tacoma and Tundra. The Tacoma is like the Camry or Accord-its a Japanese staple in the American Car buyer diet. Not sure if Ford could or would want to knock it off its pedestal The Ranger primarily exists in NA for the Bronco -

And realistically, I think this is the focus more than changing the size of the Ranger. -

I thought it was closer to F150 than that. Also, keep in mind that Maverick is a car with a bed and not a truck, also. -
But if you start with an expensive super capable platform then global volume only reduces costs so much. Adopting ce1 principles for design, engineering and assembly could cut costs several thousand dollars enabling lower prices and increasing margins. And you still get the volume amortizations.

I’d like to change my grille but I’ve seen a lot of those clips broken so I’m a bit hesitant to do it. It’d be nice if all you had to do was remove a few screws. Take 15 min tops to switch out. Or on the interior. If you wanted to change the dash insert, you basically have to take apart the entire dash. Why can’t it be just a few screws there too? Engineers probably spend countless hours trying to hide all the fasteners. Exposed screws/bolts look cool, especially in off road vehicles.

That's good then. We'll see....

Yeah, that's it - it's more force than I thought it'd be, so I've been like eh....I'll leave it.

......................L..........W.........H Maverick.....199.8......72.6.....68.8 Ranger........210.6......75.5......74.4 F-150..........232.0......79.9.....75.4 I guess it could shrink a bit, but not sure what the point of that would be.....it's really not stepping on F-150's toes at all.

It's hard for me to grasp Ranger being "too big" when Toyota sells nearly 4 times as many Tacomas at the same size. Granted, Tundra sales above it are much smaller, so Toyota has different strengths, but still. And "costs too much" seems strange, considering it's a global model, which should reduce costs.....but it's Ford..... There's nowhere to "drop in size" with Maverick below it, though... They already have single cab and SuperCab options in ROW - using SD frame isn't necessary for that - that's just a Ford decision to try to cut costs/build combos by only offering one setup.

Think somewhere between the Maverick and current Ranger, but closer to Ranger than Maverick (85% of the way from Maverick to Ranger). Downsize it a bit to back it off from F150 size. It gives a better separation. Bronco truck will be added to the mix also. And think of CE1 as Maverick EV. They're the same truck with different powertrains (guessing since we don't know the exact size of CE1). Again, we're all spit balling here...
