I was too lazy to look up why they were on the bottom of the chart. I had assumed that the fact it was on the bottom excluded it from the overall average. Also shows how stupid the IQS things are if "accessible cupholder location" somehow equals "quality"

Yeah I misunderstood what he said. There is a lot of things flying around here.

Not if it’s based on the Ranger SD as ExplorerDude just told us.

Yea, the big shots in GMC marketing are probably graded on how well they pretend the Silverado doesn't exist. 😄

Yea, exactly. Hopefully around that time a proper, great lookin' pure electric successor to MME is released too.

The TTP truck could be as big as or smaller than the Maverick, like the old Ford Ranger/Mazda B Series. That thing sold a fuckton until they let it rot. It could be incredibly cheap, like low-mid $20,000’s, and highly configurable. A gas version of the Slate truck but without the weird feitshism (crank windows, ECU sold separately, no infotainment). This would put the Maverick more focused towards retail, focused on replacing the Escape’s old volume (although with totally different customers than the Escape had). edit: looking at what ExplorerDude said to JPD, F-100 and/or Bronco Pickup with real towing chops. IDK if I hit the mark on what that means here, but I think that could work. I feel like a Bronco pickup would be more easily able to differentiate from the Maverick, Ranger, and Skunk Truck, but a F-100 could try to be really distinctive if it did what I describe above.

Latest Honda Insight is a rebadged e:N2 for Japan. It's imported from China. Production is limited to 3,000 units.

Ford did really well in the pickup truck category. F-150, SD, and Maverick all were in the top 3 within their respective pickup truck segments

It makes a lot of sense. I've been saying for some time that because the s650 was a pretty mild redesign and not super fresh, by the time we got a sedan, it would look dated. Releasing the next gen coupe and sedan around the same time with fresh designs is the smart play. Hopefully they look great. -
Chrysler wasn't removed from the IQS, the PP100 data for that brand was collected and is shown at the bottom of the chart. It's just that the brand isn't eligible to be ranked because it had fewer than two individual models for which that data was tabulated. The big shots at J.D. Power imply that the main reason the average improved a lot is because automakers figured out how to make cupholders that actually hold cups and bottles 😄 Cupholders are the biggest single contributor to the year-over-year improvement in initial quality based on more accessible location and capacity to hold a variety of sizes of cups/water bottles. This year also saw significant improvements in driving assistance alerts, electric vehicle range, road noise and body panel fit and finish
