No need for a super duty. Don’t haul anything THAT heavy. Might need it one day if we end up getting livestock and need a large trailer for that but for now a 150 is just fine. Just need to update to something newer that isn’t turning to rust before my very eyes. -
I was an unfortunately an owner of a 2020 F150 with the ten speed. It was a steaming pile of garbage. Traded it in on a 2023 Silverado and could not comprehend that two transmissions that were so closely "related" could behave so differently. Due to health issues (wife's knees) I traded the Silverado in on a 2026 Honda Ridgeline.

Isn't that available in a Super Duty? With your employee discount, it's almost free. Hahaha! HRG -

My third vehicle is a Supercab Silverado and body rust and electrical gremlins aside (it is, after all, the best Bankruptcy era GM had to offer) it suits me just fine but with the kids getting older I wouldn’t replace it with another Supercab. They fit just fine back there now (or at least they did before the seat belt buckles stopped working 😬) any taller and they’ll start getting a bit uncomfortable. BUT it’s a farm truck/tow pig and in reality I probably only really need a single cab with a longer bed. Too bad a crew cab with an 8 foot bed isn’t a thing. -

The biggest drawback for me with my Ranger SCab is It is too awkward to get things out of the back of the cab when it is in the garage with the other car in there also. 99% of the time we use the CX-90 for shopping anyway. But other times, having the opening doors is way more convenient than what a closed rear cab with tilt front seats would be. For my daily use, a regular cab actually would suffice, and may be a consideration for my next truck. -
Many of them seemingly average Joes ain’t average when it comes to building financial independence. The Miilionaire Next Door by Thomas Stanley and Baby Steps Millionaires by Dave Ramsey have lots of detail about this. Incidentally, the most common automobile among these everyday millionaires is a Ford pickup truck that’s paid for. 😃

Fun with numbers $1 billon divided by 90 million dogs (in the USA, high estimate), if every dog got a costume, that would work out to about $11 per dog. So even if you cut that in half, it goes to around $20. -

I'm not talking about the wealthy, I understand how they can afford it. It's the seemingly average Joes. -
In the context of How are people paying for things, here are some possible answers from an article in the New York Times this summer: The auto industry has evaded a slump largely because affluent Americans with well-paying jobs and robust savings have continued to buy new cars at a decent clip. And they are more than making up for the cars that lower-income Americans are no longer buying. Families with a household income of $150,000 a year or more now buy 43 percent of the new cars sold in the country, up from one-third of all cars sold in 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic, according to Cox Automotive, a research firm. By comparison, households with incomes less than $75,000 are buying about a quarter of vehicles sold, down from more than a third in 2019. Consider Dave Kasper, a resident of Ann Arbor, Mich. At 61, he is retired after selling two businesses and has the budget to afford new cars and trucks. Last summer, he bought his son a Ford Maverick pickup truck. The next day, he bought a Lincoln Navigator, a large, upscale sport utility vehicle, for himself. When he had problems with the Navigator’s brakes, he traded it in and bought a $93,000 Lexus TX plug-in hybrid S.U.V. “I’m fortunate,” he said. Wealthier Americans have continued buying new cars and trucks in part because their investments are doing well. Those who own large investment portfolios have seen their holdings appreciate, making many feel that they can splurge a little. Economists call this “the wealth effect,” and analysts say it appears to have driven up spending on cars and other goods.
