CE1 will supposedly start at $30k. If you want AWD and better range, which most likely will, you’re likely looking at 35 to 40k. Ford is hoping that they can make a profit on CE1 models, no claim has been made that I’m aware of that it will be more profitable than ICE models. Plus, as has been mentioned it should be relatively easy for Ford to use some of the cost savings methods learned in developing CE1 on ICE models.

I can see it. Also looks like what you would get if you made a falcon ute 4 doors. -

As a maverick hybrid owner, the looks of the two trucks didn't have a huge impact on my purchase. It was more about the hybrid, how proven and durable the 2.5 hybrid is vs. the turbocharged dct SC that seemed like it was gonna have all sorts of issues, and they have. It was about the price as well, and the lack of credibility Hyundai has in passenger trucks. So basically reliability, fuel efficiency, credibility, and price. Those seem to be the main draws of the maverick. I agree it looks a little funky, but it could look cool with a camo off in a sporty, muscular ute sort of way. The issue with upright windshields and designs is they won't be aero enough. It's one of the reasons why I believe Ford should push this platform as a car, hatchback, crossover platform instead of a rugged SUV or truck platform. The sleek looks of a car are already perfect for aero, so you don't really have to mess with them and do anything weird visually to get solid range. -
I think they need to have a dual track approach for at least another Maverick generation and let the market decide which direction to go rather than forcing the issue. Apply CE1 learnings to Maverick/C2 for the 2nd gen ICE Maverick, and then if CE1 takes off, while Maverick contracts, then make that move to EV only after the 2nd gen. Just my thoughts.....we've seen how full EV is risky in the marketplace, why risk one of your recent successes on forcing the market that may or may not be there?

In all seriousness, where is that power going to be useful in off roading or even on the road? Christ the 2.7L V6 has more then enough power for the Bronco....I can spin my wheels no problem if I need to. -
I'll move on after this..... I said several times if or when competitors enter/flood the market, not the market right this second.

That remains to be seen-the big issue (outside of charging/Range with some people) with EVs is price. The problem is that the CE1 pickup is expected to be around 30K The Maverick starts at $27/28K depending on what engine you get in it and from what I can see of products on the lot the average price is well over the 30K. At what point does it make sense to keep the Maverick around if the CE1 is successful? Given the changes done to engineering alone on the CE1, it will be a far more profitable product then the Maverick. But the biggest unknown is how well the market accepts and buys the CE1. if it is successful, I don't see a real reason to keep the Maverick around as an ICE product, since it would benefit Ford to move it to what apparently would be a more profitable CE1 platform structure. -
Their arch rival offers a Wrangler Moab 392 with a 6.4-liter V8 producing 470 hp (350 kW / 476 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque. That blows past the Bronco Raptor, which has 418 hp (312 kW / 424 PS) and 440 lb-ft (596 Nm) of torque. This puts the model in a tough spot as both off-roaders start at $79,995 before destination.

The Santa Cruz had other issues with it that prevented it from being successful and the EV needs to be more aerodynamic, which includes a more sloped back windshield to cut down on the frontal area. Plus I have this feeling Ford is going to be marketing this as lifestyle truck that is more about moving people then hauling things like the Maverick. I'd venture to guess that the Maverick will be more capable of hauling/towing and the CE1 will be barely a step above what a passenger vehicle can do. That also makes it different from the Ranger and Maverick. Not to mention the camo on the window sills makes it look goofy since the side windows will most likely extend down to around where those fake door handles are. I have to say this much, from the limited shots of shown of before, I wasn't expecting it to be as "boxy" as it looks in these photos.
