Changan Puts Ford EV Joint Venture Stake For Sale According to Gasgoo, Changan Automobile has listed its 40 percent stake in the EV-focused Changan Ford New Energy joint-venture for sale, with an asking price of 154 million yuan ($22.7 million USD). If it finds a taker, the company will no longer hold a direct equity interest in that entity, which was formed less than three years ago, in September 2023. At that time, Changan Ford owned 60 percent of Changan Ford New Energy, while Changan Automobile held the other 40 percent. The purpose of Changan Ford New Energy was to lead efforts to electrify the Blue Oval brand in China, but that hasn't exactly gone well. After generating 913 million yuan ($134.8 million USD) in revenue and a net profit of 527.5 billion yuan ($77.9 billion USD) in 2025, the joint-venture lost revenue across the first quarter of 2026, recording a net profit of just 1.26 million yuan ($186k USD). Last October, the company also stopped handling Ford branded sales in China, as well as service. Ford has since established a wholly-owned company to control marketing and distribution.

Mm not so sure about that. Lincoln has improved a lot but I doubt the general public believes it is just as luxurious as Mercedes. They can’t even make the Navigator compete with the Escalade (in both features and sales), I don’t think they could do it with a G-class or G63 A G-class clone will fail -
It's already behind the paywall. Here's the FordAuthority version: Ford F-Series Aluminum Supplier's Plant Back Officially Back Online

Right, my point was just that we couldn't tell the exact level from the photos I was able to grab. There wasn't an obvious "there's the door panel" line to reference. Sure....mine was a crude line version. Like I said, I want to overlay the two images when I get home later this evening to see what comes of that... The headlights are definitely different than that based on the spy shots, but at least gives some sort of reference. It definitely looks to have a bigger cab than Maverick....the midgate feature will help with longer items.....we'll see if the glass is fixed or not. Yup......that confirms my suspicion that those handles are fake. They just didn't look right to the eye, plus with all the aero talk, those are a major aero sticking point in the industry right now....didn't make sense for them to do all this other aero work and leave the handles. Am I the only one that doesn't like either of those names? Maverick EV just falls under my personal hate for having two completely un-related (design) products with the same name. Yes, I know there's Mustang Mach-E, but at least it has a sub name that's not just "EV". I know Ranchero has history, and understand they're going for the whole "sedan-ish product with a bed" view, but Ranchero just sounds old and outdated to me. I don't advocate using it since it was on a sedan, but had Ford not used it before, Fusion would actually be a neat name for it (i.e. Fusion of technology, car/truck sort of fusion, etc.)

The headline says it all, but read now before it's behind a paywall. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2026/06/10/ford-aluminum-supplier-restarts-production-at-plant-hit-by-fires/90488357007/?tbref=hp

I'm referring to Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, Escape, Edge, etc. of "boring" segments they've exited once competition became too tough. Based on track record, they're more likely to exit a small truck (boring) segment than stick with it once competitors really try.....

They can make it good looking while still having the more offroad look. They can't make it a G-wagen clone, that will fail.

The cameo team did a great job of hiding as much as they did. They are out and about in California and Michigan. The front end does have more of a slope to it like a Tesla Model Y. Blocky but sloped. This vehicle is more crew cab than it is bed. Think of this more of a CUV with a bed, much like a ute. Those door handles I believe are just well done cameo. Think Mach-E style door handles. The name is still under wraps, but it’s down to Ranchero or Maverick EV the last I heard. -
Give it time. Remember, this is BON. We hate everything.
