All good my man. Just joking around. In all seriousness, I really like this affordable EV platform. I also really love how this thing is looking more and more like a EV ute as time goes on. I was just put off initially by some of the proportions. But things that we think will carry over to the final design like the general height of the beltline have since grown on me. I agree, we'll just have to wait to see the final product. -

My parents just got their power back after 48 hours. They had a generator and was able to keep their fridges and freezers going. Biggest thing is no A/C and no water (they're on a well as are we) outside of the few gallons they had available. We don't have an issue with sump pumps here because we're all with walkout basements. If it gets too hot, we just live in the basement where it stays about 70-75. My parents house was 80 upstairs this afternoon when the power came back, so not too bad even though it was near 90 outside. We've got a portable generator to keep fridge's and freezers going, but can't run our well pump, so we're limited to the 100 gallons in our water heaters. Ice storms in the winter is another concern here. That makes it harder to go get fuel for the generators, and you have to worry about pipes freezing. -
Same. I really want one but we've only had maybe 5 outages in 8 years and 2 of those were construction related which is over. Longest one was maybe 3 hours. And that includes 2 ice storms which is the real danger and a tropical storm/hurricane.

Obviously, everyone's situation is different, as well as their tolerance for risk. Like I said, we went 19 hours during this latest event, others in the same subdivision went for 30 hours. At that point, there were a lot of worried people, with food beginning to thaw, and battery back-up sump pumps starting to run out of power. This was the result of a storm that dropped 4-5" or rain, so saturated ground became a problem for those with finished basements. The kids that live next door are on vacation in Alaska. Once the power came back on, we were able to get into their house, and start the process of getting the water out of their basement. Thankfully, they have family and a lot of friends that came over and helped out. HRG -

Dunno. I Googled "Skylands" and got a bunch of skyland hits, restaurants, motels etc and one "Skylands region NJ" so I searched for it on Google maps. -

Part of me wants to have a full-house generator installed because it's cool and it would be nice to have. The logical side of me says that I've been without power a total of 8 hours in the 12 years I've lived here, so it's rather pointless. Plus, I would have to have a propane tank installed for the generator since we don't have natural gas available. -

I've lived in NJ most of my life and I've never heard that area called that!
