silvrsvt
I remember hearing years ago that the Super Duty had to have its cab removed to do some work on it...I had my SHO in for a failed recalled part (got the recall notice 2 days after it was fixed! LOL) and when I picked it up, I saw this in the Service bay...I also just noticed the two non-Ford products in there too....I think Honda Minivan and a Lexus ES
MY93SHO
We started taking the cabs off in 2004 roughly. when the 6.4 came along the redesigned some things to make it easier.

Must of been from the used car lot because who in their right mind would take their non-Ford to a Ford dealer for service? My experience at the so called "Quick Lane" has been anything but quick. I only take my Fords to the dealer for service when they are under warranty. Once the warranty expires, I don't go back to a Ford dealer until I am ready to buy another one. blazerdude20
Very common with diesel issues. There just isn't any room to work on the motors and all the piping.

Maybe it's a non-Autonation owned Ford dealer then. Most of the Ford dealers in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas are are owned by Autonation and they are horrible. Anthony
My Ford dealer is cheaper for oil changes. Plus they ALWAYS have coupons making "The Works" (tire rotation / oil change) super cheap. Actually since I bought my car, I think I've only paid for maintenance once...and not even at full price. I either got them free or my Ford Owner Advantage Rewards covered it. Granted, I sit on my butt for an hour and a half on a random Saturday morning. But all I'm going to do (as early as I normally go) is sit on my butt at home while my kids drive me nuts.

Of course we have Motorcraft 5w20 in bulk at a GM dealership too! Not quite half the price of Valvoline 5w20, it was an easy choice.

That was the one positive about having to drop 2k for a new clutch on my car, I got like 4 free oil changes worth of owner advantage points out of it. fordmantpw
Our dealership is great for routine service. Every 5th oil change is free, and I save that for my diesel which saves me $85-90. My wife drops the vehicle off, they give her a ride to work, then pick her up at the end of the day. Works pretty well.
fordtech1
Ford's works package is a good deal. Go to a jiffy lube and ask for an oil change and tire rotation and you will pay easy $60-70 for a 5 qt car. blwnsmoke
My dealer has a $17.95 oil change special 365 days a year. You can't be that for 5 quarts... even going without the works. Plus it gives them time to do a quick inspection and possible warranty work without waiting for something to break.
Pioneer
I'm going to the dealer today to get my oil changed. $19.95 coupon and I get my tires rotated free because I bought them there. They matched Belle Tires price for the tires and they wash my car every oil change.
akirby
But then how would I justify the 2 post lift I need in my new workshop/garage (yet to be built) to rotate the tires?

fuzzymoomoo
Yeah but that comes later...... Right. Build the garage to justify buying the truck, which in turn justifies building the garage Solves two problems at once
PREMiERdrum
Speaking of oil changes, the big used car shop in town is actually an early '60s vintage Ford dealer, the former Dave Smith Ford. It's largely untouched inside... the service lobby (down a half flight of stairs from the showroom) still has a wood shingle awning and Ford blue paneling, and the two main offices are each at the end of their own curving half-flight of floating stairs off of the showroom. It's a pretty unique time capsule. I've been taking ours there for lubes since the big Chevrolet outfit here jacked their prices from $22 to $39 literally overnight.
