silvrsvt
Didn't know the V8 took that much of a performance hit going RHD
fuzzymoomoo
I don't think being RHD has so much do do with it as Euro regs do
rmc523
I don't think being RHD has so much do do with it as Euro regs do The video said it was because the exhaust had to be rerouted around the RHD steering column.
akirby
The video said it was because the exhaust had to be rerouted around the RHD steering column. Why can't they just flip the engine upside down?
rmc523
Why can't they just flip the engine upside down? Because that one would only work in Australia.
pictor
The video said it was because the exhaust had to be rerouted around the RHD steering column. What does that have to do with the cars in the rest of the EU that are not RHD?
rmc523
What does that have to do with the cars in the rest of the EU that are not RHD? I didn't realize they had reduced power as well. The video specifically mentioned RHD vehicles.
akirby
They're probably using the same exhaust in both rhd and lhd export models.
jpd80
Dang, RHD owners get duded again by poor design..... This is the problem with lazy ass US engineers they through develop the cars for LHD but then they don't properly preserve the parts path for the RHD bits...... fuzzymoomoo
Wasn't the whole "One Ford" thing supposed to avoid situations like this? NoOne Ford is meant to eliminate redundancy in the marketplace and simplify the supply chain, and streamline engineering. It's why Ford NA engineered the RHD Mustang, not FOE or Ford AUS. fordmantpw
Wasn't the whole "One Ford" thing supposed to avoid situations like this? No, not necessarily. There are some things that just have to be different between markets. Exhaust routing for the steering linkage is obviously one of them. tbone
I imagine an aftermarket company will rectify this.

This is the problem with lazy ass US engineers they through develop the cars for LHD but then they don't properly preserve the parts path for the RHD bits...... they wanted tocarry over the hard points from the old model, and that prevented a better RHD solution from being used. Well, I mean, if you guys would just put the steering wheel back where it's supposed to be, there wouldn't be any of these problems.
