Not only are they obviously more affordable, but they seem to be above the rest of Ford's platforms in terms of quality/reliability. Absolutely. It’s a double whammy of Model E investments in infrastructure and ongoing Ford Blue warranty charges. Good question, the new BEV complexes are costing an absolute fortune, who knows if Ford will see anything like the volume it expects Meanwhile, REV center went back to one shift and now idled until the new year. When things look this bleak, it’s hard to see the upside but maybe things will completely change in a year or so….that’s what Ford is hoping. Depending on how far along the plant is in terms of construction, how hard would it be to modify it to build these upcoming CE1 EVs? It seems like that's where the volume is really gonna be. Why commit all of these resources and plant space to a large expensive EV truck that won't sell in super high numbers when you could use it to produce EVs that will almost certainly sell in the hundreds of thousands by the late 2020s. The first CE1 EV is supposedly going to be a smaller pickup roughly in between the Maverick and Ranger. My SWAG for this is that all EV production gets consolidated at BOC (CE1 and T3 pickups) and Louisville gets a C2 based P/HEV to keep it busy in 2026 or so to replace the Escape/Corsair and maybe add a larger product to replace the Edge? The other thought I had is these EV pickups might be branded as Broncos in some shape or form, so they don't step too much on the toes of the Ranger and Maverick? I'm guessing we will find out more in the next couple of months....Ford has said they will show their plans off early next year, which I'm assuming is going to take account of whatever the new administration changes. I wonder if when they discuss their plans, if it's actually some interesting new details, or if it'll just be Ford telling us what we already know. That makes the most sense to me also. No reason BOC can’t build all the EVs or at least more than just T3 and new transit EV. Bring Nautilus to Louisville and add a new hybrid edge. Ford is already calling the Maverick BEV a mid sized vehicle, so probably accentuating that even though internal dimensions Ranger vs Maverick are amazingly close. Its now in Ford’s best interests to use smaller sized batteries in lighter vehicles to improve profitability even though reports showing a big drop in battery prices is happening…. Well in US at least, cars are classified by size by interior room-that is why at some point the Accord was considered a fullsize without a sunroof a while back. I having a Bronco and Bronco Sport (Ranger vs Maverick) I can say that the Bronco is only slightly wider interior wise vs the BS, but are more or less identical. The big difference between the Ranger and the Maverick is overall length, with the Ranger being 10 inches longer. I'm wondering if the new CE1 EV straddles that at 205 or so in OL. My guess is the new BEV truck is closer dimensionally to Maverick (maybe a bit bigger), but with a much larger interior space that BEV allows you to open up.
