I'd rather just seem them do a Thunderbird, Falcon, or whatever you want to call it.  Maybe it is just the way this MT rendering was done, but the Mustang roofline and Mustang front / rear end don't adapt well to a sedan.  Ford has done so many great concepts like the 427, Interceptor, and Forty Nine that were restrained and thoughtful...it doesn't need all the busy bodywork and design cues, IMO.

The Mustang Coupe won't be able to survive with a V8 if CAFE goes the way its supposed to go an the sales numbers aren't exactly setting the world on fire either.    A Sedan would help with both things and would be "affordable" and not boring at the same time.    If Ford can sell both products on the same platform and sell about 120-150K a year, that will be a win. 

I’ll note he did say they’d *start* first week of August. Its entirely possible we hear the name in like November, alongside any other month.

I believe he said the name was revealed. But if the truck in general gets revealed this month that would be awesome. Poetic symmetry with how they first provided major details last August.

Ford missed their chance with a RWD Continental twinned with a Ford sedan, I feel like this keeps rearing its head to satisfy people that want to see it but maybe not buy?

I suspect that was at the root of it but whatever it was, there certainly didn’t seem to be much feedback…
