I've always said, there is a fine line between what is "good" and what is "good enough"....

The 5.0 is a huge engine - I doubt it’s any smaller than the 6.8/7.3 and it’s certainly far more complex and has to be more expensive to build. An aluminum Godzilla would likely be no heavier than the 5.0 

Which is pretty substantial if we're talking about a performance car. 

I dunno remember the days of having to shut off the AC on a Chevette to be able to pull onto the Florida express way in the mid 1980s. Or an 82 Escort wagon that went 0-60 in whenever... LOL   Sometimes I think people forget how bad we had it.     

It means it activates cornering lights when turning the wheel.  Animation is on startup.

The difference in weight is about 150 between the two. 

Last week, my wife and I ordered a 2027 Corsair Reserve and the sales manager gave me a printed copy of the 2027 Lincoln Corsair Order Guide. Looking through the order guide, I noticed that the 2027 Corsair Reserve comes with "LED SBL Headlamps w/ Animation" as standard equipment.   Does anyone know what these SBL headlamps are and how they differ from standard LED headlights?  

Exactly, there's really just no point to it. The 5.0 is just so good both in NA and forced induction forms that there's not much it can't do that a larger pushrod style motor can. It would just be unnecessary.    Plus at a time when we all want the mustang to get lighter and more agile, shoving a big super duty motor under the hood would essentially ruin the driving dynamics. 

From what I understand, the official reason for making the 6.8 V8 was all to do with having a replacement for the 6.2 Boss buyers…..they needn’t have bothered. My theory was having the 6.8 as the base allowed a small price increase on the 7.3, (maybe that’s wrong) but Ford now prefers the simplified production of one engine     There’s been a rumour for ages that Mustang would get a 7.0 V8, be that based on OHC Boss or the Godzilla, Yeah that kinda spends 20 years and I think people saw it for what it was, nice but not really what Ford wanted. The Supercharged DOHC V8s kinda quenched the hunger for 427/428/429 CID, only a few keep waiting.

I still remember the rumors of a 6.8 mustang and how wacky the idea of a super duty motor in a mustang was. Glad that fell apart.
