Well then don't think 🤣. But no, in all seriousness, if Ford ever brought an off-road supercar like that to market, I could see it using similar windshield tech to the gt. Which in turn uses a similar type of glass to smart phones. It's apparently a lot more resilient against impacts than normal glass. -
When I first posted the article, is wasn't behind a paywall. I even tried opening the link a few times to be sure. Now it is. Frustrating.

I don't think I could afford to replace the windshield on that.

I know about the Star, but don't think that had anything to do with the Rivian-based model.

I like the way you think. My biggest concern with Farley doubling down on off-road performance vehicles is just making everything the same. A boxy, lifted truck or suv with massive tires and Ford lettering in the grille. That stuff isn't bad, but I don't want that to be all Ford does.  That's what I really like your recommendations, a blend of SUVs, trucks, and cars. It gives enthusiasts more variety, and makes Ford a more interesting brand. -
That reminds me of the old Jeep Commander.

Yeah, my goal for that is I thought the lifted mustang raptor renderings I'd seen up unto this point were trying too hard. Massive black cladding on the fenders, Ford lettering in the grille, skid plates that felt like they weren't even integrated into the mustang's design. It just looked tacky.  So I wanted my own take on that lifted mustang look that was a little more tasteful. A mild lift kit, and some clean lights in the grille, not much else is needed to sell the look imo. -
Isn’t it ironic that Rivian was rejected because electric foundation was incompatible with Ford’s own engineering approach with hundreds of individual controllers….. Here again, I wonder what Jim Farley would have done differently now thst Ford embraces a similar philosophy in CE1. (South Park what would Brian Boitano do )  it seems like they had a great platform and partner with Rivian but Ford’s own engineering torpedoed the whole thing……

They are fun to drive though, and don’t forget the power of a low price tag. I don’t think a two door would be worth it, but the 4 Dr version might work. While it’s rear legroom is tiny, it’s not any worse than most other subcompacts.
