I'm not sure how accurate that transmission thing is-I found some old build and price and it seems like the 2.0L is still tied to the Powershift transmission and the 1.0 Ecoboost was on fleet/cheapo Foci only.
Even on this PDF Ford doesn't call out a different transmission for the 1.0L Ecoboost
https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North America/US/product/2018/focus/18-focus.pdf
But the 1.0L Ecoboost was an option in the Focus SE Sedan for that year.
Sticking with the animal theme, I thought coyote would have been a good name. It’s already the name of a higher end engine so it has a performance heritage.
But wheels are one of the easiest things to change out on a car-IMO i like the wheels on the Maverick Lobo-but then again I liked WRC, so those Rallye style wheels appeal to me.
I think Ford is trying to do something different-its like the Dark Horse name on the Mustang as its current range topper. While the Shelby name has cashe or whatever, it really doesn't mean much to younger buyers (say under 30-40) like it would to older people like gen X that might only be 10-20 years removed from the famous 1960/early 1970s Mustangs when they where new.
