This makes no sense. You already have a vehicle that slots in below the kuga and above the puma with a boxy design and the bronco name. It’s called the bronco sport! Why not just use that?
From Autoline Daily:
Other than the boxy styling, the new model for the region will be nothing like the North American Broncos. It’s going to be built alongside the Kuga in Spain and will be offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The model will slot between the Kuga, which is Europe’s version of the Escape, and the Puma, which is Ford’s best-selling model in Europe. An all-electric version is not said to be in the cards, but other powertrains are expected to be.
Yea, also in the EU battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell trucks are exempt from tolls and road use fees, further lowering cost of ownership & operation
To promote the competitiveness of sustainable road transport, zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles are exempt from tolls and road user charges within the EU. The EU Commission especially wants to support electric and hydrogen technologies.
I wish Ford had a strategy for these vehicles, it feels like FoE needed a last-minute standalone product to fill a need, but it is unique and bespoke for that market only.
