I just question how many of such potential buyers would actually pay attention to something like this.

They did screw up, but there are apparently at least 2 models on the way to fill those gaps (Maverick-based crossover, and the ICE Mustang "Mach SUV", along with the electric Escape, but that's electric).  Unfortunately, all of these products are a couple of years off still, which don't help with the situation described above with the Subaru having issues.

Ah, yeah, this move makes more sense then.  Grand Highlander sales more than doubled Highlander sales last year:     I doubt all of those Highlander sales will convert to the EV version, but it'll be interesting to watch.

I just hope Ford does two things... a full-hybrid Ranger option and an EREV option for the CE1-based models. Pure BEV pickups only work when used as regular cars.
