We’re talking about a brand whose sole product is a minivan. ‘nuff said -

I barely trust this inept dealership to pull my vehicles in for service from the parking lot, let alone pick them up! Ain't no freaking way! -
Same here. My family bought a bunch of cars from the local dealership, going back to the ‘80s. Heck, the only place I ever bought new vehicles was from them. Then they changed ownership a few years ago, and they got rid of everybody that made the dealership what it was. The way the new service people treated my late mother after Dad passed made me swear them off forever, when they had been the only Ford dealership in the metro Oklahoma City area where I hadn’t shaken the dust off my sandals and left forever. I still get occasional text messages from them to my dad’s old phone number saying that they have a great trade-in offer on his ‘21 F-150. The funny part is that Mom sold the truck after Dad passed in late ‘21–to that very same dealership, no less…

Funny thing-after my experience with getting my Bronco, my dealerships service department is 1st rate-they even still pick my Bronco up for service, even though I'm about 5 miles out of their radius. -

The service department is what's pushing me away from my current dealership as well. We've bought 9 new (1 used) vehicles from them, my MIL has bought 3, and my parents have bought countless. My nephew was a salesman there and left over a year ago. Now he sells GMC/Cadillac, otherwise I would buy from him, but we're likely taking our business to a dealership that's an hour away vs. the current one that is 30 minutes away, and within walking distance of my wife's office. -

I've actually said in the past that the current escape looks a bit like a Porsche 😂. Especially from the side. Here's the two side by side so you can see what I'm talking about in terms of the shape of the greenhouse and general surfacing. -

Most of the time the vehicle choices that people made in North America where not compatible with other countries needs/wants. The Japanese and VW did well because of timing with the gas shocks in the 1970s and the Big 3 getting stagnant because of the lack of competition. Only in the past 25 years or so have markets a lined size wise for the EU and NA markets at least. The Contour/Mondeo doesn't count because it IMO it was too small for our market and Ford didn't get the midsize/full sized sedan in the NA market straight till the Fusion and 500 hit the market about 20 years ago. The Taurus was too big and the Contour was too small.
