But that doesn't mean they didn't look at both and decide one or the other before they got there. I guarantee Maverick took some sales that would have been a Ranger pre-maverick. Ah but you're not seeing corporate profit margins. Ranger has to be priced to compete with Tacoma and Canyorado and usually has some incentives. That automatically lowers profit margins whereas Maverick has zero direct competition, raised prices considerably the last few years and no incentives. I bet Ford makes twice as much on a Maverick as a regular Ranger excluding Raptors.

Any idea why they consider the Corvette ZR1X to be a "prototype"? It's certainly street legal. HRG -
It makes more sense if whatever is going to TTP replaces at least some Ranger sales.
-
That helps volume but those aren't profitable versions. And more cheap Rangers means less profitable Broncos.
-
It's not street legal because it lacks headlights and airbags and other required safety equipment. But it can be purchased (77 of them) and it's the fastest non electrified vehicle only beaten by the electrified AMG One and VW ID.R. That's a hell of an engineering accomplishment. I doubt any of the 275 AMG ones are actually being street driven either.

I respectfully dis-agree...the Ranger is more focused ( at least WAS ) commercially, as cool as a Bronco truck would be, after watching the Gladiators sales plummet ( to the tune of 20 k savings ) Im not sure a viable business case could be made for it...

agreed...but they also , UNLIKE the F150, narrowed the range un-necessarily so IMO. The Supercab GONE...no regular cab either...again IMO they should have a base single cab with an HD payload package, and deleting the supercab with a sub 30k MSRP was , at least to me a glaring mistake, ranks right up there with deleing the 8 ft Supercab HD on the F150...we used to sell a bunch, primariliy to Commercial users, you could put in a cross bed tool box and STILL have 6 1/2 feet of bed. Corporate could probably justify the deletions with pie graphs, I just know what we get requests for, and our Ranger sales specifically, dropped significantly after the omissions.

I agree with you DeluxeStang my friend. It's sad. EV version of the full sized bronco or mustang represents Ford's best next big opportunity with EV, perfectly complementing the upcoming CE1 products, and fulfilling Jimbo's own vision: "we’re going to have passion brands; we’re not going to have commodity products like Edges and Escapes. Mustangs and Broncos…good stuff." Yet now Jimbo says he wants to chase Tesla rather than focus on the good stuff for new Ford EV. 🙄
