"Jimmy" is/was a nickname for GMC pickups ~50s-60s. I think the name had more cachet for the 60s Jimmy than it does now; doesn't resonate anymore. Maybe Chevrolet's version (there's bound to be one) will be the Master Deluxe?

Since the Ford big shots describe the skunkworks as an internal Apollo style mission, the expectation is that the skunk truck (love that phrase!) will be a generation maybe even two generations ahead of Maverick (or any other small or midsized truck) in terms of features, capability, design, and performance.   So even if you could consistently get the Maverick for cheaper, the skunk truck would still be appealing to a large base of prospective customers. 

Hopefully it won't weigh 9,000 pounds like the current Hummer EV.

I really hope they never get rid of this feature it's a nice backup to have.

The issue is that external  headwinds are going to drive up prices, it’s maddening to Ford and other manufacturers but seems highly likely that input costs will rise significantly. That’s why I take the $30,000 starting price as a wish rather than believing it is a solid anchor. I’m thinking that the vehicles might be on a  lease with conditional hand back to Ford so it can control the narrative on lease payments and hand back prices….just a guess and could be way wrong as thinking affordability is highly linked to monthly payments.

Agree, the grille insert completes the front. Feedback to me is that lower trims look lazy but worse, that painted space is prone to stone chipping in places like Australia..

The GT looks great. I’ve increasingly grown to dislike the front without the sport appearance package. GT has it by default but the whole lineup should.

Yea, I like that idea. Maybe a shrunken version of the current Hummer EV SUV, but with removable roof. GM took the shrink down approach with the Hummer H3 20 years ago.
