https://fordauthority.com/2026/05/ford-gets-serious-with-suppliers-amid-ongoing-quality-issues/ According to Crain's Detroit Business, Ford is cracking down on supplier quality and costs by placing companies that exhibit quality issues on a "no bid" list for future contracts, as well as requiring others to submit three-year cost savings plans to prevent a similar outcome. The Blue Oval is requiring certain suppliers to enter what's known as "total value management" plans (TVMs), which require a certain percentage of cost savings on the overall supplier business every year. TVM programs are nothing new nor uncommon, as automakers generally bind suppliers to meet certain quality and cost savings targets in that manner. What makes Ford's TVMs unusual, however, is that it's stepping up the enforcement of its multi-year requirement, and even pulling business from suppliers that don't reach some sort of agreement with the company. At the same time, Ford was quick to point out that this is not a new policy, and that enforcing TVM programs are part of its broader efforts to improve quality and reduce costs in order to better "compete in a rapidly changing and complex industry."

The Chrysler 300 built on the old Mercedes bones was actually a good car and was pretty popular. I recall having one as a rental and finding it was equal or better than my Continental in terms of ride, quietness and overall feel. Seeing a once upscale respected brand devolve into an entry level appliance just strikes me as a bit sad. Stellantis has basically destroyed Dodge and Chrysler, IMHO.

I could understand for the roof, but the 3.0 is in other models, so putting it back on Platinum seems like those buyers weren't happy it wasn't an option.

Well, maybe Ford is planning yet another truck size to the line....yes folks, the F200....a 5/8 ton beast with standard 6.8L V8 power.... Please note: I am only speculating based solely on Ford's many entries in the pickup truck segment.... -

Cheaper, yes, but does the F150 need more low-end torque than the 5.0 to make it worth it? Plus, I would assume the 6.8L is quite a bit heavier being iron instead of aluminum. But, adding to the F150 wouldn't mean they would have to drop it from the Super Duty. It would just add economies of scale. -
It’s cool seeing a Fiesta stick around that long and still doing daily duty. People joke about these cars, but when they’re maintained they can hang around for a lot more miles than most expect. The bright green color makes the timeline pics even better too lol. Definitely one of those cars that becomes part of the family after a while.

Agree and using Bronco as the foundation for T6 vehicle modules did a lot to improve that. but Ford is also showing that a vehicle just below Ranger and perhaps one ever so slightly larger is a better strategy for North America? Tacoma is more popular than Ranger or even Colorado, that may be due to a slightly wider cabin and body which leads me to think that Ford may have plans for the T6 Super Duty chassis beyond Global’s current use as a SD Ranger. Although the bodies are narrower than F150, T6 Track is similar width as F150, so could Ford be in a mood to create F100 with a slightly roomier body….

It would be cheaper to build because it wouldn't have DOHC head on it. It would also offer more torque down low but it gives up HP in its current state also. Plus who knows how emissions might affect Coyote vs the Godzilla engine.
