Motorhome chassis vehicles, which are based on the old Econoline, still go by E-series.
-
Yes. They have been, the issue is just pricing. Because Dodge Ram owners have been socially conditioned by the company’s marketing to be mouth breathing cavemen when it comes to engines.
-
True - I was thinking they might try to get cute and squeeze it in as a play on E-lectric somehow. God, I hope they don't. I really hope they don't. 😄 Then again, I firmly believe Chevy dropped the ball by not calling the Silverado EV the EVlanche, so I'm not imune to naming puns.

Ford uses E names on the crossovers/SUVs, not trucks. I think the beltline falls in line with the mirror arm, so it'll be a bit lower than what's on the camo, but it's not going to be WAY lower where that fake character line below the fake handles is. Mach E has been ok until the incentives dropped. I understand your point, but I think if Ford prices the vehicle at their promised levels, there will be customers for it.

2027 Lincoln Corsair Will Utilize U.S. VIN As Ford Authority reported back in May, the Lincoln Nautilus utilizes a vehicle identification number (VIN) that starts with a 5 - which is rather unusual, as vehicles produced in the U.S. typically have VINs that start with either a 1, 4, or 5. In fact, several other models that are built in China and sold in the U.S. have VINs that begin with the letter L. Turns out, there is a valid reason why that's the case - even though the Nautilus is built in China - and we're now learning that the 2027 Lincoln Corsair will follow suit. The 2027 Lincoln Corsair will follow the Nautilus in terms of being built in China and exported to the U.S., a shift that comes after production of the compact luxury crossover ended at at the Louisville Assembly plant late last year. When it does arrive stateside, the new Corsair will indeed feature a U.S. VIN and not a China-based one, as is the case with the Nautilus, according to sources familiar with the matter. As for why that's the case, China didn't assign Ford a world manufacturer identifier for a "multi-purpose vehicle," which is a required classification under U.S. regulations - it only did so for passenger cars and trucks. When Nautilus production shifted to China, that country recommended that Ford designate it as a passenger car, and in that country, it's sold with a VIN that starts with the letter L. However, Ford was concerned that this could complicate VIN assignment in the future if it was to eventually build passenger cars in China for export to the U.S., so the automaker asked the NHTSA if it could use a U.S.-assigned WMI starting with a 5 for the Lincoln Nautilus sold in America. The agency agreed, noting that Ford meets the legal requirements for such a move.

Ford’s Recalling A Quarter-Million Cars Because It Can’t Recall If It Fixed Them In 2018 | Carscoops Ford is recalling more than a quarter-million Focus models because it can’t confirm that an earlier safety recall from October 2018 was actually completed correctly. The new recall, 26S40, covers 255,404 Ford Focus vehicles from the 2012-2018 model years that were previously repaired under recall 18S32 (NHTSA campaign 18V735). According to Ford, some vehicles were recorded as having received the required Powertrain Control Module software update even though the correct software may never have been installed. That means the original defect could still be lurking beneath the surface.

A recall for a wear item that doesn't affect driving is ridiculous.

The savings extend beyond the product cost. Procuring 50 products from 20 vendors and managing that along with engineering, testing, assembly and warranty costs dwarf the product savings. Let's say it costs $500M to roll this out and it only saves $1B/yr. That's a 6 month payback. Even at half that it's a business case that nobody would turn down.

That's a change, too. First replacement sill panel from Ford Performance to Ford Racing.
