1995? is that a typo? I’d say 1985 is when things changed tremendously, at least for Ford. The Taurus launch, the restyled 1986 Mustang and Thunderbird, which might have been an 1987MY? Even the Tempo and Escort got nice refreshes with flush style headlights and taillights. the lineup got another tweak in 1989 -
I agree. I really liked the concept when it came out. For something so similar, I can’t figure out how the production model could look so much worse.

The shape of those seats remind of the chairs from school. I can’t even imagine trying to use that tiny screen while driving. And the lack of a center screen makes no sense. The steering wheel is going to always be blocking half your view. I’d also hate to get in a wreck with that “spine” going down the middle of the car.

Hopefully there is a Lincoln version of some kind.

The Wall Street Journal called it the "Malaise Era" back in the late 80's.

We pretty much know there's a crossover version of Fathom.....presumably just a Fathom with the bed covered, so that's 1. That would leave 3 more if there's 5. For what it's worth, the graphic they revealed with the platform debut showed the following 5 form factors: 1) A Truck (Fathom): 2) Two van graphics (2A) one with 1 row cargo van (2B) 2-row passenger van 3) A small crossover: 4) A medium crossover: 5) A 3-row crossover: That right there equals 5 (vans count as one product/body style ). With how low Fathom is, the small crossover could be right around hatch size....

They are very expensive and not necessarily covered by the cost of the option.

Funny, I don't think the new Palisade looks good at all. I feel like the last gen looked better/more classy, even though I hated the split light look. And it looks downright cheap in lower-end trims. Meh, colors will I'm sure be optional/price add ons anyway, so I don't know copying Tesla with only a few colors is really necessary.

Looks like you could be right. Someone is stating these are some of the available colors over on the fathom site. The blue works, a similar color has been around for years. I’d question the choice of the others, especially when trying to keep costs down. I would have guessed they would have copied Tesla and only had a few colors to choose from. If that’s the case, then you could be missing out on some more popular colors.
