I have a 2024 F250, 6.8L & 3.73 axle with about 6K miles. I’ve noticed that I’m getting a whining noise or howling noise from what appears to be the rear diff. The issue is most noticeable between 40 – 60 MPH on a rolling coast or slight throttle. Under a hard throttle there is no noise. For me this is the first time having a larger Supper Duty Truck. My previous Trucks F150 did not make any noise like this. For this instance I did take it to the dealer, they indicated what I hear is normal and to drive for more miles and let know if it gets worse. I also check the Diff and Transfer case and oil levels were full at the fill plug. Is anyone else experiencing this same noise behavior and is this typically normal for a new F250 to make rear end noise like this?
I just posted this over at GMI, and I'll throw it in here too:
The issue isn't the "Grand" prefix. The issue is that they're not consistent with its usage in their own lineup. For the Cherokee nameplate, the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee/L are completely unrelated vehicles - one a compact, the other midsize/large. Then you jump to Wagoneer, and the "Grand" prefix is some unknown deliniation between "luxury" and.....not.....I think?? Like I as an auto enthusiast don't really know how to explain the difference aside from the Grand one is supposed to be higher end, but one can option a loaded "Wagoneer" above the base "Grand" Wagoneer.
I view the lack of Jeep branding ON the vehicle as a wash - sure, it makes more sense to have Jeep branding, since all styling cues are Jeep, and just because you don't call it one doesn't mean it isn't one. A rival example is the Mustang Mach-E. Sure, people refer to it as Mustang Mach-E (or just Mach-E), but Ford still treats it as part of a Mustang sub brand.......it's still a Ford Mustang Mach-E. Same with Bronco - there's a Bronco sub-brand, but they're still Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport. See below google searches, where Ford includes Ford, but Jeep specifically leaves off the Jeep name with a Wagoneer search.....they fixed this with the Wagoneer S, which is referred to as the Jeep Wagoneer S (I think this is a dumb name as it sounds like a trim level vs. a unique model, but that's a different discussion).
Since the VW sourced Ford are doing so well in Europe, Farley wants to double down and sell Nissan sourced Ford in North America 🤡
First, as already discussed in the other thread, it is a total screw up to not have a next-gen Escape ready to go. Other car companies manages to replace their high volume cars like clockwork every 5 or 6 years so why is that such a struggle for Ford?
Second, as the electrek article noted, this may be a far more wide ranging deal than just a way to help Nissan bring the next gen Rouge to market before bankruptcy. Nissan cancelled Ariya and may or may not commit to building the Leaf in Tennessee after all. Maybe what it really wants is to use Ford's CE platform... and it return it will solve Ford's more pressing problem which is that it won't have a car to sell in the biggest volume segment.
Farley's disrespect for Escape is well known. He's been trying to kill the product instead of making it better so I'm guessing in his mind, it's a cheap way to fill a "commodity" product that he doesn't have to spend money on. It's just a strange way to look at one of the most important product globally in your company's line up. He may also be replaying VW's hand when it sought Ford to help defray the cost of MEB... maybe Nissan is desperate enough to sign a bad licensing deal for CE1 so he can recoup the investment even if the CE1 cars don't sell very well.

I know Farley was catching flak about how far ahead the Chinese are, but here are the facts:

I think Stellantis is far more likely then Ford to go this route.
agreed, I buying today I would get the AWD hybrid. As it is I have less than 15000 miles on the my 3 year old Mav Lariat so I don't see replacing it anytime soon.
