Thanks for the on the ground detail with Ranger sales.. I think it highlights that disconnect between what international markets like about Ranger resuscitate how the domestic market reacts - noting super-cab F150 is ending is maybe trying to open the door for more Ranger sales? Weve known for a while that Ford is up to something with T6 and a larger truck coming from the new Tennessee, it’s still unloved what exactly that is but it may be the perfect way to reuse and reposition a T6 as an affordable large truck just below F150.. Petty much Ford MO, end a vehicle claiming most of those buyers will go to another existing Ford product so it has nothing else to do but sit back and take profits form increased sales of the continuing vehicle. ……only that in most cases, that doesn’t happen, Ford basically charges more for the continuing vehicle and sees the loss of sales, say Escape as insignificant to the actual bottom line (nice neat little bow) I think it’s all about shrinking production back to only the profitable models that Ford wants to produce, it’s happened so many times that it has to be about taking recurring savings from stopped production.

Obviously not happening but that looks better put together than half the photoshops on many car sites. -
The latest version is the Next Generation Delivery Vehicle or NGDV, replacing the bulletproof Grumman Long Life Vehicle or LLV from the 1980's. Quick summary: Some call it the ugly duckling. But it's because function was preferred over form. The reason was they wanted to make it so carriers could stand up in it and also accommodate more packages where the growth is, which in turn also made the windshield huge which offers better vision. Marker 6:00 tells us a Ford 2.0 L engine supplies the power. There's dozens of videos on this. Here's one: (293) USPS Oshkosh NGDV Postal Van (Ugly by Design) - YouTube

But you also implied that fordmantpw's opinion of his problems was wrong.

What is a minor annoyance and a deal breaker can be the same depending on the driver. And I was giving the poster my view.

Were we twins separated at birth?

You don't u derstand the difference between a minor annoyance that happens occasionally and a deal breaker.

I think regular cabs is a no brainer for F-100 along with other fleet configurations. Lots of factory space to use up.

But notice that profit hasn't taken a big hit, so that should tell you that while Escape was profitable for dealers Ford wasn't making much. CE1 products should do much better on profit margin although volume will take a few years and multiple models. Meanwhile the new CUV replacement should do even better. Whatever customers were lost will be made up with new products and better customers. Just like Maverick and Bronco Sport replaced Fusion and MKZ.
