Yea, I'm (cautiously) optimistic that CE1 will be the game changer Ford big shots claim it is in terms of bringing affordable EV to the masses, and that they won't screw up this Model T moment. Especially since Toyota, of all companies, now seems to be a leader gettin' new EV to market quickly. 😮 I don't think Jimbo wants his previous employer to beat Ford in the EV game!

The big shots at Ford are really good at the latter. That's what they do best. They rarely ever do the former. So Jimbo should get partial credit for admitting mistakes 😄

Another interesting aspect about the 2026 RAV4 engine, beyond the use of 0W-8 motor oil, is that it's beltless. All accessory and drive belts (e.g., for the alternator, water pump, HVAC system, etc.) have been replaced with electric motors.

How about quality and uncompromised engineering?

So I was just thinking about this. He's said if they revisiting the idea of a performance affordable car, he would want something that blurs the lines of on and off-road more than the st and RS did. So what about a sportier looking hatchback that looked to past Ford rally cars for inspiration instead of purely road going models? A design like this that could call back to escorts of the past. -
That would suggest 24.7 - 33.6 MPG to us Yanks. Not bad. Thanks!

https://www.autoblog.com/news/hyundai-stops-sales-of-2026-palisade-after-fatal-rear-seat-incident The issue is with the power-folding system for the rear seats. Sometimes, it doesn’t detect when someone or something is in the way as the seats move. This affects both the power-fold function and the one-touch tilt-and-slide feature for getting into the third row. According to Hyundai, this latest move follows a tragic incident involving a Palisade in which a young child lost her life. The company said the situation is still under investigation and that full details of the event are not yet known. Hyundai extended its condolences to the child’s family while noting that safety remains its top priority. -

It wasn’t back in 2022 when we bought a RAV4 hybrid instead of an Escape hybrid either. You had to get the top level model to get Auto up front windows. What the hell Ford. I’m sure it’s just only gotten worse. Where are the pictures of said car? 😎 -
