  1. And I'll add... If funding holds for this next round of Lincoln product updates and additions... ?

  2. Mission statement is not worth the toilet paper it is scribbled on. Tesla makes 95% of its revenue from selling cars or carbon credit from those cars. So let's dispense with the BS that it is anything other than a car company. The valuation of Tesla means Wall Street believe it will be the only one of 2 or 3 car companies 30 years in the future after the world's vehicle fleet is electrified. If that sounds logical to you, then go and buy some Tesla stock now. The more logical way to look at the car companies' valuation is that some of the top 10 car companies are severely undervalued since more than a handful of them will still be around in 30 years and still outselling Tesla. For example, do you really believe Tesla will outsell VW or Toyota and earn more profit than those two? Do you really believe Tesla will sell more pickup trucks than Ford? Do you really believe Tesla will sell more semi trucks than Daimler? There is no guarantee that Tesla will even reach the top 10 club in terms of volume or profit in 30 years.

  3. In addition to the Explorer/Aviator EV news, there were other tidbits of interest: Also: Also this: This mention of Maverick and perhaps an attempt to downplay the talk of a lesser showroom presence: And some product news (none of which should be surprising): And finally: https://www.autonews.com/sales/future-product-ford-ready-hit-gas-evs?utm_source=weekly&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20210829&utm_content=hero-headline

  4. Glad to hear they’re doing something for the techs. That’s been a problem for many years now.

  5. We're now also hearing that ford did confirm that the s650 will be releasing in 2023, with a hybrid model expected to go on sale in 2025. So glad that ford is now openly discussing the s650.

  6. Maverick, Escape, et al are the exceptions to this strategy, as they're more solution-based vehicles than comprehensive portfolio items. In this segment, I expect modular development across multiple vehicles with each retaining their own identity.

  7. I think you might be right, it looks like the Stop/Start removal started in Mid August. I saw other earlier build dates with the Powerboost and Stop/start isn't even listed at all on the sticker. This one has a build/blend date of 8/23 and stop start listed https://www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?token=d0yxDWAyMSZe%2Fj%2F9upVjQBNHKpnciiuUb%2BgVgoyx5WwV7nfQCgtLZggLijvZNRN5qm9N4t1FQxmR3d8%2BLBUy%2Fb3EqouRPnZqb2iYC4AEXd8JTXLR3mTdTWqIn21RfPLS1Tu0jsRo0u8jUf%2BAzNUeU%2Fe0%2FYPgd%2FmJzuaVke%2FsQv0%3D Here is one with a build/blend date of 8/9 no stop start https://www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?token=PIUt6uBs6RY9yvE2oGh8AMrjX9Az%2FPtYizCxj75ANguoOuoJkPAs8AgJug0sWucWpsmNNWBG8y5qTr26WXuaySpwkO61JwJ8h74VsensqMmQxGrdkTqx%2F7gFDFIdA%2FCB2rct5Xpa4Ui8ZIz1zvHFZF6zmUax3s30gfJpyNpyvQ0%3D

  8. Remember that Ford is really hot right now on building distinct vehicle "families," the validation of which is bringing their portfolio in line with customer expectations from other consumer goods markets. Each family will be able to support 3 to 5 models, with maybe an exception or two: F-150 Family SuperDuty Family Transit Family Ranger Family Mustang Family Expedition Family Explorer Family Bronco Family Edge Family / Fusion Family As long as their standards and hallmarks for each brand remain focused and enforced - and they are doing a great job of this so far - it's a great strategy that maximizes consumer outreach efforts and positions the brand better that a broader portfolio of disparate products.

  9. So far only thing I’ve towed is our camper. Bought this camper when we had an F150 ecoboost but decided to upgrade due to payload. Pulls like a dream.

  11. Rivian has filed its S1 with SEC and values the company at $80 billion. Not hard to imagine this going double or triple this amount once the stock start trading. It's a crazy number for a company that has yet to deliver a vehicle to retail customer (supposedly it has already delivered a bunch of vans to Amazon). Ford is valued at $53 billion based on Friday 8/27 closing price. Ford reportedly owns somewhere between 15 and 20% of the company. At current valuation, Ford's equity investment in Rivian is actually the single most valuable part of Ford. Not the F-150. Not its distribution network with dealers in every small town in America. Not its joint venture in China. Not its 100 years old European operation. Nuts. https://electrek.co/2021/08/27/electric-pickup-startup-rivian-files-for-public-offering-80-billion-valuation/ https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1133398_rivian-files-for-ipo-80-billion-target-is-350-times-tesla-s-ipo-valuation https://www.wsj.com/articles/ev-company-rivian-confidentially-files-for-public-listing-11630080304 https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/27/business/rivian-ipo-electric-trucks.html https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/27/cars/rivian-ipo/index.html

  12. The cobbled MME mule we've seen is apparently the mule for Explorer/Aviator EV: Note the comment that both will be "distinct from the standard versions". This info came from a multi day dealer meeting in Dallas. https://www.autonews.com/sales/future-product-ford-ready-hit-gas-evs?utm_source=weekly&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20210829&utm_content=hero-headline

  13. 10/25 seems to be a placeholder for people that have AS. If they get the necessary parts in trucks with AS will probably start being built. but considering they are scheduling this week for 9/27, 10/25 seems to just be a place to put all the trucks that have VINs but no parts to make them. just my opinion based on nothing solid or confirmed.

  14. Turning some of their most iconic nameplates in sub-brands really has been a masterstroke for Ford. I'm especially excited to see how they decide to expand the mustang line-up in the future.

  15. Very good question if they’re making a Corsair EV wouldnt they make an Escape EV seeing as how they’re on the same platform?!

  16. If the mule was indeed Explorer EV rather than Edge EV, then I assume that means Ford thinks Mach E is the replacement for Edge. We had assumed that Ford will make a square back version EV about the size of Mach E to replace Edge but maybe they don't intend to do so at all.

  19. Once again, just passing along a different point of view of world events from a Retired Col., his views may coincide with other union member on this site but, his opinions are his and do not reflect the opinion of the BOF or any liberal mindset, strongly compassionate union members of our strongly represented union. Please use caution, viewing the Col.`s writing it may cause rapid heartbeat and/or dizziness for some strongly compassionate hearts. In the event there is a strongly liberal mind involved please consider not reading the Retied Col.`s post. In the event there are medical results from the reading of the post please seek medical resources. “They (<--deliberately generalized to protect the compassionate individuals) thought that mean tweets and dating Playboy models was so outrageously awful that they needed to exchange him for a half-wit plagiarist with busy hands and a slothful mind. He was no prize before he put the “d” in “dementia.” Prior to allegedly being elected president, (<-- once again the Col`s opinion -->) this dork was, as D*****crat R****t G***s famously put it, “wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades." The same genius who thought capping Bin Ladin was a bad idea also thought ditching Bagram was a good one.” Purely an exchange of current events through the eyes of Retired Col. K. Schlichter. 20. Still not buying it...there is already an established name for the Explorer to use to expand its branding or establish a sub brand. The Mustang and Mach names are associated with one another and using them on a BEV was marketing masterstroke. The BEV SUV still performs like a Mustang, so it has that angle. I can see Ford using the Lightning branding for Ranger BEV. As for people doubting BEVs-This best thing I've heard when it come to them-my cousins husband was on a ride in my brother in laws Model 3 Performance and when he got it, he said-This feels like a ride at Great Adventure! I've never felt so much torque/G force from a car and I've been in a Tesla S also. Its insane.

  21. The Mustang and Mach names had zero association with an electric four door CUV, before they did. Ford is building sub brands. I wonder if instead of (or in addition to) a Mustang sub brand there won’t be a Mach-E sub brand.

  22. Maybe you guys are getting BEV versions or "Coupe/fastback" versions of the Corsair and Nautilus?

  23. That’s exactly what you are doing. Minimizing the fact that these vehicles will incur paint damage. Not to mention the unknowns (rodents, tire rot/flat spotting, interior fade, water intrusion). Did I say anything about the vehicles rotting on random lots needing to be crushed? I’ll answer that for you..No. I said I care about the appearance of my vehicles and will not be purchasing a vehicle sitting on a random lot for months. Don’t get me wrong, some folks likely won’t give a damn, but I do.

  25. Nope. Vehicles sitting on a dealer lot is much different than sitting at a random lot (such as dirt mountain, KY motor speedway, etc). Dealers actually “wash/clean” and move vehicles around the lot quite frequently.

  33. If you have your order number and VIN number, you can go to the Lincoln vehicle order tracking site to check the status. Your dealer can provide the order number and VIN number and perhaps even tell you if your vehicle has been scheduled. I ordered a Corsair Grand Touring on July 5. According to my dealer it is to be built the week of September 6. The website shows my order has been secured and shows the VIN but it doesn't show any other status. My understanding is it won't update until just prior to the build. https://shop.lincoln.com/vehicle-order-tracking#/status

  36. Ford provides the basic order information updates only via the consumer tracking website page. The enthusiasts, which are a very small segment, can obtain more frequent and detailed information from their Dealers or from qualified tracking requests here at BOF. Dealers that aren't familiar with the Vehicle Visibility program are either just ignorant, incompetent or lying to their customers and can't be bothered to provide the information requested.
