mettech
The Mazda looks fantastic!!! Really looking forward to the next line of Ford products.
atvman
It's aggressive and flowing like the Evos, but I don't think it looks all that much like it. If it wasn't red, we probably wouldn't be having this conversation.
Stentgraft95
Will any future Mazda's have any commonality with Ford products as far as shared platforms?

I think "it" started when I was a young kid looking at the '68 'Vett and Opel GT thru the dealership showroom windows.. I wonder how many hours I spent as a kid and adult just sitting in Corvetts and Opel GTs.... . I suppose this is what it would be like today... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGp6JQz5BC8 Anyway,,, I degress.... Edstock
Very interesting — but you sure have to see it for real, because, IMHO, the area below the rear-view mirror and how it transitions with the shoulder- line running from the rear fender is critical. That's a complex relationship of surfaces. It also may or may not age well.

bzcat
Will any future Mazda's have any commonality with Ford products as far as shared platforms? Not likely... Mazda is bent on going its own way so I doubt there will be any cooperation going forward.

twintornados
Shouldn't this be in the "Competition" forum?
DC Car Examiner
It looks like the current Mazda6 but with the CX-5 front end. No pilfering to report.
GTwannabe
Grille opening looks better than the current goofy cartoon grin. Still too big though.

97svtgoin05gt
These are both really good looking products. I must resist being lured in to the Mazda fold, I've been there done that and they just don't like me. That is a nice car though. The fender haunches are the definite down point for me. I'm not into that especially on the current 6. It just completely ruins it for me. Too Dumbo looking.
V8-X
Meh. It's okay looking, has it's good style points. But just can't really say I like it. Much prefer that Ford Evos over it. Edited October 28, 2011 by V8-X
jpd80
This is a sign that Mazda needed Ford much more than Ford needs Mazda...
atomcat68
After looking at this for a week, I don't like it as much. The front (the part that's different) is the part that looks odd. It's too big! They put a Jimmy Durante nose on a sexy face and ruined it.
GTwannabe
This is a sign that Mazda needed Ford much more than Ford needs Mazda... Ford I4's were pretty anemic prior to Mazda's assistance...
NWS Alpine
I really like the style of both. Although the Ford looks like a lot will need to be changed for production. The Mazda looks more like a production model.
