Trailhiker
Is this made off the Kia Niro platform?
silvrsvt
Looks like a station wagon toughen up. I kinda like it, but I also wouldn't buy it. Ford should look at doing this in NA with bringing over the Fiesta Active (stupid name BTW) and the Focus.
tbone
I think that is pretty sharp. Looks to be along the same lines as a Subaru Crosstrek.
rmc523
Those growths in the bumpers for the headlights and reverse lights look terrible.
silvrsvt
Those growths in the bumpers for the headlights and reverse lights look terrible. I just noticed that after you said it...guess it got its inspiration from the Cherokee
akirby
Those growths in the bumpers for the headlights and reverse lights look terrible. Huh?
rmc523
Huh? You don't see the giant plastic bulges that contain the headlights and reverse lights in the front and rear bumpers?
chefduane
Looks like the headlights are, in fact, molded into the grey plastic that also forms the wheel well. The little slice lens above looks to be the turn signal (I think.) The DRL's and maybe fogs look to be in the lower fascia. At least that's how it looks to me. It does kinda' look like a Subaru - wonder if its available in AWD. EDIT: ..just took a closer look at the rear pic. Its badged 4WD. Anthony
The biggest thing this has going for it is the amount of style for its class (I mean, let's be real... look at it next to the EcoSport, which looks dowdy in comparison). This is picking up where the Juke left off it seems.
fuzzymoomoo
Oddly enough I don't hate it. I can't really explain why
akirby
You don't see the giant plastic bulges that contain the headlights and reverse lights in the front and rear bumpers? I see those, just wasn't sure if that's what you were referring to.
Anthony
Oddly enough I don't hate it. I can't really explain why It has a quirky "Citreon" look going for it. Polarizing, but not ugly. A bit over-styled, but if it is aimed at a younger market, that may help more than hurt.
MY93SHO
Those growths in the bumpers for the headlights and reverse lights look terrible. Crossed a Cherokee with an Audi.
twintornados
Ehh, not my cup of tea, but they will sell a shit-ton of 'em....
bzcat
Is this made off the Kia Niro platform? No, this is based on the next gen Hyundai Accent/Kia Rio/Kia Soul platform. Niro is bigger. EcoSport is going to look really dated and cheap next to Kona. I hope the next gen EcoSport is on fast track development (we know it is probably not but still...) CKNSLS
Looks better than the 2018 Lincoln Navigator.......
chefduane
I like that term "over styled" and agree completely. But the 25-35yr over-bearded full sleeve tattoo and high & tight crew cut crowd will probably love it. (Nothing against over-bearded full sleeved tattoo high & tight crew cut types but, hey, talk about "over styled!")

silvrsvt
x2 Ford really missed the boat on this segment. I don't think they expected CUVs to take over like they have been...everyone was expecting big gas prices where going to last.
tbone
Looks better than the 2018 Lincoln Navigator....... These two vehicles are not targeting the same audience. People purchasing a navigator are generally not looking for an overstyled vehicle.
Harley Lover
Ford should look at doing this in NA with bringing over the Fiesta Active (stupid name BTW) and the Focus. x2 Agree with your opinion of the naming, the Fiesta product would be a quick fix that might be surprisingly close to this type of product. fuzzymoomoo
These two vehicles are not targeting the same audience. People purchasing a navigator are generally not looking for an overstyled vehicle. I don't know about that, Lexus IS still doing pretty well these days.
tbone
And I would argue that very few of those Lexuses are selling in the same price range as the Navigator will be. I'm willing to bet that the LX 570 sells at less than half the rate of the current generation Cadillac Escalade monthly. And I would classify the Escalade styling as conservative versus the Lexus. atomcat68
x2 Ford really missed the boat on this segment. x3. I think the Ecosport will be a swing and a miss.
