DeluxeStang
https://www.drive.com.au/news/2026-ford-ranger-super-duty-revealed-as-most-capable-factory-one-tonne-ute/ What a beast. Looks quite cool with a normal bed as well.

Rick73
Great looking truck, though snorkel seems a bit much. 😀 Also impressive GCWR and towing capabilities.

Maybe one of our OZ members can answer better, but I believe the snorkel's purpose is to intake cleaner air on the dusty, muddy Australian outback roads.

Mostly for water crossings but might help a little on dusty roads.

I kinda hope you can option the truck without it just to have a cleaner design if you want. There are rumors this is coming to America, sign me up if that's the case.
T-dubz
Keep the body the same, remove the snorkel and change the engine to the 2.7 and this is what the ranger tremor should be in my opinion.
Texasota
Anyone notice the squircle wheel wells? They are not round which is very unusual for Ford. Maybe a first?
DeluxeStang
Just now, Texasota said: Anyone notice the squircle wheel wells? They are not round which is very unusual for Ford. Maybe a first? It threw me off at first, but I actually really like it now. Might be the best looking of the rangers imo. The more aggressive arches, and boxier front end almost gives me bronco pickup vibes. Could be, but I think it is mostly for show. If it were for cleaner air would it not be more effective if turned around so would intake from rear? I don’t know, but in my experience when following other vehicles in dusty off-road conditions, dust is essentially just as bad at 5 feet from ground as at 2 or 3. Some aftermarket snorkel vendors claim they add power and fuel efficiency by sucking in cooler air, which is theoretically feasible, but I wouldn’t hold my breath to experience results. In right setting I suppose the snorkel would look cool, but as daily driver a little silly parked at grocery store. I just hope it’s optional. akirby is correct that snorkels are mostly meant for deep water crossings AFAIK, and since driving through 3-feet-deep water isn’t my thing any longer, I would pass. The Ranger isn’t a military truck, so deep water would likely ruin the interior and electrical system.
Rick73
P.S. — It is called “Fording”, so maybe appropriate. 😀

That's why it looks so much like a Canyon! Not a first...the Bronco Raptor's are squircular also.

Remember these markets don't have F-150 or Super Duty (F-250+), so this gives them a stronger option in a smaller footprint. 44 minutes ago, Texasota said: Anyone notice the squircle wheel wells? Bob Rosadini
Seems to me I did see an earlier version that did not have the snorkel-which to me was always used for vehicles that might be "Fording"😀...But would it help with dust ? Seems like it would to some degree as long as you are the first vehicle kicking up dust. As for dust, what about a "pre cleaner" someplace that provides quick access so you could routinely and easily blow it out with air or water. For sure a bigger problem for our Aussie friends than us. If it comes to the US, make it a smaller size package-super cab or conventional cab that capitalizes on its towing capabilities as well as GVW appealing to commercial/ag markets. Forget about the "look at me crowd"..let them buy the aftermarket crap on their own.

For now, production will be limited to Thailand but there is an outside of this making it stateside. This is basically Ford going after the older Landcruiser pickup market and it valuable commercial sales as service vehicles, forestry and rescue vehicles so no the price will be up around Raptor. Wonder if other Australian Rangers have larger fuel tanks already. I realize it’s diesel, not gas. A larger tank option would be nice, particularly when towing. No they don’t and the big hope is that it will be offered as an option for vehicles that go to areas where extra fuel range is needed rather than trying to carry Jerry cans…
