I have the same vehicle and have noticed the same clicking behind the gauge panel as well. What I cannot understand is that indeed sounds like relay clicking, but why has become more noticeable with increase in mileage?
Also why haven't more drivers noticed it as well?
I agree I think plugin-hybrids is a better near-term goal for the brand. I think having at least one EV in the lineup wouldn't have been a horrible idea though. Diving headfirst and saying the entire lineup would be EV by 2030 was a bad move IMO and I am glad they course corrected for that
Man you would piss off some folks I know in a few classic car groups I am in. For the record I agree with you but when ever someone asks about upgrading the old drum brakes for discs they come out of the woodwork screaming "the car wasn't designed for discs and you won't get better performance and should just stick with drums!!!!!!" 🙄😄
Does the current Ford family still feel that way though? I know they shot Mulally down when he wanted to shut down Lincoln but that was what 15ish years ago?
I don't want Lincoln gone at all I have owned several and currently own 2 but they need to get serious about the brand. The past few CEOs have been hot and cold on Lincoln alternating between and the brand has clearly suffered because of it. Jack Nasser liked Lincoln and saw the value then he was gone. Mulally didn't care for it and wanted it axed till the Ford family put their foot down. Mark Fields liked Lincoln and wanted the brand to grow. Hackett I would have to imagine didn't care for Lincoln that much since the brand has stalled since then. Farley the jury is still out but rumors are funding for Lincoln has been cut off or reduced greatly. I wish they would start getting serious with the brand.
I had the 'captive buttons' and sliders on my 2013 MKZ. The buttons were annoying but the sliders I didn't mind at all. I actually found it easy to get the fan speed to max by just sliding my finger quickly across it. That being said the lack of heated/cooled seats buttons on the control panel was a huge sin. They were only available on the home screen or the climate screen. If you went into Nav or Radio they were completely gone. I upgraded to Sync 3 which is a far better system but it suffered the same issue.
My 2017's control panel is a million times better having physical buttons and physical heated/cooled seat buttons.
Also to add, it's been a long time since I have seen a car with temp and fan controls on the wheel but my 04 Aviator has them and I love that it has them on the wheel.
Good afternoon all. We previously had a z plan available to us, however we need to obtain a new one to purchase a new expedition max. Is there anyone willing to share a pin with our family? Thank you so much.
In my truck, I use the fan speed and temperature controls fairly regularly, and I can operate them without taking my eyes off the road because they’re big distinct rotary knobs. In my Flex, I have to take my eyes off the road to adjust pretty much anything because there aren’t any tactile buttons, just touch-sensitive surfaces, with the exception of the fan knob. The design of those control surfaces is far and away my least favorite design feature about that car, even with auto climate control. At least my Lincoln had distinct rockers for adjusting the temperature—if I try to adjust the temperature in the Flex, I’m just as likely to skip back 10 seconds in the podcast that’s playing as turn the temperature down one degree.
I use the temperature control and fan speed including Auto fairly often. My personal experiences with my Edge and MME touchscreens require me to look to locate the buttons to touch and often required multiple touches to make the change due to lack of responsiveness or other. I do not have this same problem with my Raptor or our ST.
