As an former Ford, Visteon, and ACH employee, I can assure you that Ford ain't going to bring back Visteon in the manner of ACH 20 years ago. 😄 Visteon in its current form is completely independent of Ford. About 75% of Visteon's business now comes from automakers not named FoMoCo.

Thanks guys, it happened the day after my severely disabled brothers birthday as well. It's been a rough week to put it mildly, but it's getting easier as time goes on. -
That's the claim. I've started to suspect it's in how the hoods, being the only aluminum panel on the vehicles, are being prepped for paint. I should really talk to a body shop guy about that. It's not an aluminum issue, or we'd see it on the F-150 and Super Duty. If aluminum has a different need as far as primer goes, but they run the same stuff on all the panels, that would sure cause an issue. It's super weird that it seems to happen in the same places on all these different models, and across so many years. Like really, guys, figure it out.

Couldn't agree more. I'm just concerned that designers are gonna get wrapped up in this wave of 90s nostalgia we're seeing right now, and try to create some rounded, bubbly design that loses the mustang car look in favor of being a new edge throwback. I believe Ford should take more of the 911 approach. Not being as conservative in visual changes as Porsche is, but I mean sticking to the general shape and lines that have made the mustang such an iconic muscle car. Making it look iconic and timeless instead of trying to cash in on trends. -
Universal EV Platform Engineered With Right-Hand Drive In Mind Thus, it isn't terribly surprising to learn that the Ford Universal EV platform was designed with right-hand drive markets in mind, too. The Blue Oval revealed this little tidbit during a recent question and answer session pertaining to its UEV platform and the first vehicle that will utilize it - a mid-size pickup due to arrive in 2027. "The platform is capable of right-hand drive, but we have no specifics to share currently," the automaker stated, adding, "the UEV is a globally capable platform, and Ford plans to export vehicles. However, we aren't sharing specifics on where and when yet."

Oh, the aluminum plant fire has definitely been an issue across the board.

I am hearing from a couple of sources a rumor that one of the reasons U-Haul went to Peterbilt/Cummins for their larger trucks is due to problems with the 7.3L gas engine. This one may have come out of a U-Haul truck:

The long term plan for a new merged platform probably took more resources than are currently available and the viability of the sedan is somewhat unknown. So get the sedan and crossover out the door quickly (relatively speaking) then move everything to a new platform which might involve updating Flat Rock.

Just wondering if any body knows when the balance out date is projected on 2026 superdutys. Planning on a new 2027, order is placed but not submitted to order banks yet. Thanks Rob
