GM and Ford have significant production based in Mexico so if tariffs come in,
the whole reason for moving / having production there completely evaporates…..
Also, the F Truck decision for Oakville now looks very shaky……
It feels like the new administration is about to reneg on USMC deal.
Correct, remember that global pickups grew out of original single cab one tonne versions
and now the big sell is being able to tow in that 7,000 to 10,000 lb range. All those imported
post factory RHD F150. Silverado and Ram 1500 all start about $10,000 dearer than a Ranger Raptor
so offering a Ranger that can do some of that work will definitely increase sales and be more affordable.
I’m very interested to see how it’s gonna play out now that Trump is back in power. I’m concerned how his policies might affect trade with Canada. His administration could very well slap tariffs on Canadian made vehicles as well so I will be watching closely.
True but Ford also increased production assuming that the depth of buyers was greater than it was.
It’s not just Ford, Jeep also has the same problem with high inventory levels of high priced vehicles
I'm probably setting myself up for devastating disappointment, but I came across this official Ford design sketch recently. This is exactly what I want to see out of these affordable EVs, something sexy, but areo efficient. This looks to have a less blocky nose, and even has a few small Ford gt styling cues added in with things like the headlight shape/placement.
A small affordable crossover with this design, and this sort of passion for design and character would be a massive hit. Imagine if the front of the next escape looked like this.

I went back to the email that Ford sent to me after the order was placed. I can now print the window sticker. The dealer installed options are listed on the window sticker.
