Eh, I still think Mach E sits too low to appeal to Edge buyers.
If they're going to drop Escape, they need to add a Bronco Sport "Max" (LWB) AND a hybrid model (on regular and L), so that they can have a better ICE segment offering.
I think this is a good move, honestly. It'll be interesting to see what powertrains they offer, though. Is it going to be more of an appearance package, or is there going to actually be some sort of performance aspect to it (i.e. is it a "street Raptor" or is it just the regular 3.5 with some performance looks).
Seeing 2 different setups in photos, it almost makes it seems like it's more of an appearance package than a standalone model like Raptor.
I agree that it's better overall, I think a slight nip in width at the bottom would make it even better. But either way, it definitely looks like a completely different vehicle than before, not a minor refresh.
Joaquin Nuno-Whelan Replaces Dianne Craig As President Of Lincoln
Back in November 2022, Ford announced that Lincoln CEO Joy Falotico would be retiring, with Dianne Craig set to take her place. Since then, Lincoln’s strategy has changed considerably, shifting away from EVs and toward a pair of new models that haven’t yet been revealed. Now, a little over two years after taking over the reins of Ford’s luxury brand, Dianne Craig has also opted to retire following a 38-year career at Ford Motor Company.
Craig will retire at the end of April, and will be succeeded by Joaquin Nuno-Whelan. Craig has held a variety of roles within Ford’s ranks, including president of International Markets group, president of Ford of Canada, and chief executive officer at FordDirect. At Lincoln, she has overseen the successful launch of the redesigned 2024 Lincoln Nautilus, the all-new 2025 Lincoln Navigator, and helped the brand achieve it best U.S. sales results in 17 years. As for Nuno-Whelan, he takes over the top role at Lincoln with 25 years of global experience in vehicle and technology development after joining Ford in 2024 as the Vehicle Program Director for full-size utilities.
Could be, but I think it is mostly for show. If it were for cleaner air would it not be more effective if turned around so would intake from rear? I don’t know, but in my experience when following other vehicles in dusty off-road conditions, dust is essentially just as bad at 5 feet from ground as at 2 or 3. Some aftermarket snorkel vendors claim they add power and fuel efficiency by sucking in cooler air, which is theoretically feasible, but I wouldn’t hold my breath to experience results. In right setting I suppose the snorkel would look cool, but as daily driver a little silly parked at grocery store. I just hope it’s optional.
akirby is correct that snorkels are mostly meant for deep water crossings AFAIK, and since driving through 3-feet-deep water isn’t my thing any longer, I would pass. The Ranger isn’t a military truck, so deep water would likely ruin the interior and electrical system.
