I never had to use the built in maps because of my Waze or Google Maps screwed up (I've had display freeze on me on a trip though once) so IMO it is pointless and I don't need it in my next vehicle.
I use the app but not in the vehicles. I like to channel surf with the steering wheel buttons and you can’t do that with the app.
One thing I noticed on my Boxster is the satellite sound quality is much better than any of our FoMoCo vehicles including the Revel system on our Nautilus. I know they compress some channels a lot but it seems to also be a problem with Ford’s hardware that makes it worse.
Does Apple Music have 70s and 80s channels? That’s what we listen to the most.
Well it kinda matches the bed cover angle shown in this patent image. So maybe it's the truck wearing this bed cap that apparently doubles as a tent?
But then the issue is this design from the patent doesn't appear to match the shape under the tarp, which appears to have a longer hood than the vehicle below.
Even if it does that, he said he'd rather go through 15 steps than just do voice.
they usually do.
This is similar to Ford's current "connected" navigation, which mine came with for 3 years or whatever it was. It overlays some traffic or weather on the map, WiFi, etc. I'd occasionally look at the radar thing, but the phone also does it, so largely didn't use any of it really. After that, it reverts to regular navigation (an option when ordering) with just the map and ability to do directions, just no traffic stuff. Honestly, I've only used the car-based one a few times (I'll primarily use waze for longer road trips (people report speed traps, etc), or google maps for regular trips as needed), but I like having the built in map just in case.
I've been using Sirius for almost 20 years now and I'm going to finally drop them like a bad habit shorty-I just started using Apple Music and the sound quality is HUGE improvement over the compressed shit that SiriusXM has been using. I use the SiriusXM App with CarPlay too. Plus the App is now $9.99 a month, I'd rather pay an extra dollar to have zero ads and far better quality. I don't need sports stations either since I'll just use whatever app (Youtube TV, Peacock, etc) to listen to it via Sync if I'm driving.
It'll definitely depend on the range to price comparisons. If this thing comes out and it has 150 miles or range like a slate, that will be really disappointing. But if it's in the let's say 250-300 camp, I think people will still accept that.
