I guess that's the advantage of a relatively low volume (Initially at least) new product. You're not losing existing revenue like cd6 explorer and not losing out on billions of new revenue so it's a lot easier to justify a slow managed rollout. Also keeps costs down.
We'll see if they stick with it but maybe the skunkworks team really opened Farley's eyes to a different way of doing business.
Whisper is that Delivery timeline for the second CE1 isn’t until cy2029
All new platform, Ford is clearly taking roll out cautiously to avoid issues like CD6 Explorer.
By that I mean, get the construction and assembly processes down to pat with pickup and
then any other type of vehicle should follow a similar path…
So what? For now, in the U.S., EV's are yesterday's news. ICE and hybrids are what people are buying.
Basically GM's EV's are all dressed up with no place to go.
I know, just imagine that with street tires, could still look kinda cool for what it was. I also agree the patent is the final design, it's just a "What if" type scenario for that more radical direction.
I personally believe going with the patent image is the right choice because it's less polarizing. A proper ute would be neat, but maybe that's something they could explore in the future with like a future 2 door offering.
The biggest issue with the rendering is the wheel/tire combo would kill range LOL
I have a feeling that the CE1 is going to look similar to the Trademark drawings they've put out-Its going to be blocky but aerodynamic.
