Or long shot they trademarked the cobra name for if they want to bring back the actual cobra clay model that we saw awhile back. -
My guess is maybe the Cobra name is iffy territory with Shelby, so they didn't use that.

Nope, that's been a big criticism of it since the current gen debuted. I think Dark Horse SC is kind of a dumb name.

Sure, I doubt they expect that many either, especially considering Maverick is around now. If you view it as a whole, they're at 225k between Maverick and Ranger. I'd also imagine Maverick allows them to prioritize a more profitable mix for Ranger without losing out on sales overall.
