Yeah sorry, I’m laid up at the moment with a bad viral infection and pain killers, my brain and typing is really suspect at the moment I meant late 2027 for possible CE1 production launch as a reason why were not yet within that 12 mont zone before release… Sometimes there are no explanations……

It doesn't integrate with Alexa either, otherwise I could use that. All this functionality and the money grubbing bastards refuse to offer it. -

That is all on fucking Blackstone (who owns it) and it annoys the hell out of me that they don't want to integrate with apple ecosystem to add a button, so they can get whatever profit they can from it. Not sure how they have their deal with Amazon, but I'm guessing they are paying for it. -

That may be where they are going with it. They'll still have to pay for the hardware to interact with the opener unless it's completely software such as an integration with MyQ and others. Now, if I could get MyQ to work with CarPlay, I would be less upset. -
Wow did you all forget your Foci history... Yes, Mazda5, Premacy, Focus, Focus C-Max, I-Max, same platform. The Asian market had the I-Max name, that's all....No it wouldn't compete with the Sienna, or Oddity... This is Transit Connect sized "C" platform. My friend had the Mazda5. She loved it, it really served smaller families (meaning, size-wise, she and her tribe are smaller skinnier people). 132K trouble free miles, my only complain about it was it needed a good 30HP more. She then flowed to an '16 Edge 2.7LT V6 and has never gone back to lower power.

I think it boils down to that the cost of it might be the issue-Ford can't make a profit or as much profit on it due to costs? Or who knows it might be part of the move to make a software defined architecture and be able to charge for it down the road? -
Agreed about an option. Or if they want to save some money, put it in the screen somewhere. As much as I hate that idea, if it saves Ford 3 cents per vehicle to not have the buttons and means we can keep it, it's something...

Yes, I think that is the biggest issue, its going to take 10-15 years to move over everything to it. -
I can see that. I think that multiple OEMs, have struggled bring software development in-house after decades of outsourcing software to suppliers. VW notoriously failed, and went to rivian, F Ford scrapped their program and lost $10 billion in the process. This isn't easy for organizations used to doing things a certain way. I think the biggest challenge is the desire to make Zonal architecture work with existing architectures without throwing everything they've been using for the last 20-30 years out the window.
