I assume it will also share a lot with the TTP truck.

Yes, I think North America is likely getting a Ranger (or F-100) Powerboost. It will meet my wants/needs very well. I wish I knew how long I have to wait to order the new GenerLink/Ford transfer switch so I can have whole house backup via Pro Power Onboard.

That doesn't jive with how I interpreted this post: https://blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/79045-mach-e-wont-transition-to-the-skunkworks-platform/&do=findComment&comment=1255774 but my exuberance for a future F-100 could have caused me to read more into our Aussie friend's post than was intended. If F-100 is Ranger Super Duty only, then it leaves customers like me looking elsewhere. I don't need/want a Ranger SD or the off road chops of a Bronco pickup. Plus, F-100 SD only goes against the Ford mantra of an affordable truck from TTP.

I’m wondering if the 3.0 EB PHEV is worth another try as an apex product or whether that ultimately hurts Navigator Sales…interesting interplay there

To me this is a scales of economy thing much like the 6.8/7.3 Godzilla, it's easier to make the one engine and maybe offer a couple of tunes, maybe with and without hybrid/site power? Its more about Ford simplifying manufacturing and getting savings with fewer parts variations but sad to see the 2.7 go…..it was a great engine. puely speculation here, I wonder if that engine (2.7 V6) makes it way to South Africa as an option on international Ranger as a better PHEV vs Chinese competition?

Our Aussie experience with the PHEV Ranger is confusing and probably not indicative of How America sees hybridisation as the next step with gasoline powertrains. So yes, Ford US will be armed with what works for its market and I think the battery size for on site power vs a prevented PHEV may be where the sees spot is for sales. Aussie market is different, the PHEV needs to become diesel replacement as post 2028, diesel pickups here will be almost impossible to sell because of emissions/economy regs basically mandating PHEV as a minimum…wonder if this is similar to California and aligned states emissions legislation?

Nah basically everything from the Frame up would have different sheetmetal than the ROW Ranger. Maybe share stuff interior wise with the NG F-150. Basically you’d spilt the midsized market with a Bronco pickup (maybe) and then this heavy duty medium that is closer to a F-150. It would attract people at the lower end the F-150 market that are normally overbuying in a F-150 -

Yeah I saw that post on B6G about a 6 with a single turbo on….that would make sense if was a inline 6 -

Based on what was said here, I would guess that the 5.0l would be updated and carried over, with the Ecoboosts (3.0 and 3.5) being replaced by a new turbo'd six cylinder engine family. Enough to up output and keep the lineup relatively consistent. -

The next gen is a clean sheet from a body, frame, and electrical architecture stand point. It still looks like an F-150 but will be visually different that you will be able to tell the difference between the new generation and previous generations. Some powertrains will carry over, some will be all-new. Some may not launch in the first year. Still TBD. I don’t know all the reasons it was delayed twice but there were significant learnings from the skunkworks team that were applied for efficiency improvements. I do think it will be worth the wait though. The current truck is still selling exceptionally well and the 2027 updates will keep it looking fresh.
