Well Ford only has one car, the Mustang, so I wouldn't look into it too hard LOL And the Escape is gone as of 2027 -
https://fordauthority.com/2026/08/ford-bronco-based-lincoln-suv-slated-for-2029-debut/ Saw this on Ford Authority today. I do wonder, if it actually happens, what the Lincoln Broncos interior will be like. Will it strive for “durability” like many other off-roaders or try to be nice as possible.

Minor detail but it is interesting they list the Fathom on their website not just as a truck but also under SUVs & Cars: probably speaks to who they are targetting with this.
-
It looks like the front still has it but not the rear, which is a bit lame if I’m honest.

I am skeptical or even against the EV using the Escape name. The Fathom’s launch will be a good test, but I think they should go for a totally new nameplate on the UEV Crossover and have this $25k crossover be the new Escape. The price point and hybrid fits what people actually want out of the Escape nameplate more than a more innovative EV.

Exactly. I worked for IBM for 31.5 years but I could have retired at 30 years with the same exact benefits. There was no reason to work that extra 18 months other than being unsure about taking that leap. In hindsight, I very much regret working longer than needed. I would like to have those 18 months back!

BS and Maverick are close to 350k combined which is pretty close to max capacity and that's without a hybrid for BS. I think BS will move to Cuautitlan or be imported from Spain as previously speculated. If the CUV shares the maverick front clip then I think maverick wagon or something like that makes more sense than Escape. Let the EV use Escape.

From today's Autoline Daily. Apparently Hermosillo is getting the new $25,000 CUV. And speaking of Autoforecast, it says Ford will come out with a mid-size crossover that will be built in the same Hermosillo assembly plant that makes the Maverick in Mexico. Ford recently said it will come out with a mid-size crossover that will be priced around $25,000, and putting two and two together, we think this is it. There will be a hybrid version as well. By basing it on the Maverick, Ford will save a ton of investment money. Now the question is whether they’re going to call it the Ford Escape.

Or maybe TTP. Hard to say without knowing all the other plans.

You know, that actually makes sense.......if they're truly doing an ICE Mustang CUV that slots in the Edge size bracket, it totally makes sense that they'd want to pair a Lincoln (Nautilus) with it if they can't import from China long term. I guess they'd have to add both to Chicago? I don't see them making another CD6 plant for those two models. I did see a rendering of the front row that still showed the lit panels in the front seats, so maybe they're still present there?
