I gotta say, I have had sunroofs in my past SUV's (not counting the Bronco...ultimate sunroof option there...lol) but when I ordered my Maverick, I decided I did not want a sunroof and to tell you the truth, I don't really miss it....it's like Ford just "knows" me.....🤨
I pay no attention to JD Power. A company can get them to say anything if they qualify it enough. You know, like best car made on a Tuesday at 4:01 PM when the sun was shining on an even numbered day!
It is what it is, this isn't the 1980s when AC wasn't standard on vehicles and a sun/moon roof was a nice way to get extra air into the car. I seriously wonder how many people actually use them and saying you do is fine and good, but its like saying you still use LPs when tech has moved on to other things that more people use.
Because the factory is at capacity and Ford has chosen not to expand production until last year when they decided to add SD to Oakville. Adding a factory is a lot of overhead if you can’t run it for at least two shifts. GM is much better at having sufficient factory capacity. Ford tries to squeak by with the bare minimum and it hurts them frequently not being able to meet demand.
It adds up perfectly if you look at it financially and not technically or from a consumer standpoint. It’s not an excuse - that’s just the business decision they made. If they’re selling all they can make at high ATPs then it doesn’t make sense to invest in those upgrades from a financial standpoint. It’s a zero sum game so whatever they save on Navi they can invest in other products. Obviously as a consumer and Ford fan it’s frustrating but the business decision makes sense.
Thinking that other "legacy" manufacturers could tie in with Generac or others to offer the "solar aspect".
